The canal path is beautiful to cycle or walk the dog, ending up at the Double Locks Hotel for lunch alfresco! Riding stables are close by, as is the Riverside Leisure Centre offering a newly-refurbished gym, swimming and fun pool. Catch a bus or take a leisurely 15-minute walk into the city centre where you will find the farmers' market every Thursday, guided tours around the Cathedral and Underground Passages or visit the Museum and Art Centre. Explore the historic estuary town of Topsham, take the nature walk or cycle path and swim in their beautifully maintained outdoor pool. The award-winning Darts Farm, home of local West Country food and drink shouldn't be missed!! Hire a mountain bike at Haldon Forest; cycle trails for all abilities, dog walks and adventure playgrounds, or visit the great Crealy Adventure Park - the children will love it!

Upstairs - All bedrooms have polished wood floors ,rugs, bedside cabinets, radio alarm clocks, bedside lights and a selection of books. 2 Double bedrooms, 1 single and 1 with 2 single beds. All with good quality bedding. Fantastic views over the city from the 2 back single bedrooms. Double front bedrooms with built in wardrobes and lots of storage space. Bathroom and seperate shower room with wash hand basin, toothbrush / shaving socket, heated towel rails in both.
WiFi avaialble in all rooms.
Good quality Linen and Towels provided.
Cots, highchairs, stair gates, are all available at no extra cost, please just ask.

The house appears to be on 2 levels from the front, but is on 3 at the back .The decking area is on the first floor and is accessed through the patio doors in the kitchen diner. This area is a real sun trap in the mornings. Nothing nicer than taking in the sun, drinking freshly-brewed coffee and reading the paper. The ground floor at the rear has been converted to an independent, 1 bedroom self- contained flat, lived in part-time by the owner and friendly Spaniel. Through the back door, or via the side gates and down 6 steps, there is a large patio area furnished with table and chairs leading onto the 100ft garden, with trampoline, garden furniture and sun loungers in the warm weather. The garden is ideal for both children and pets.

Home from home - so many little touches too numerous to mention but here's 3 we've never found anywhere else:
1. slippers waiting at the door,
2. every possible kitchen utensil
3. as well as the home made carrot cake and lemon curd

A basket containing basics, tea / coffee etc plus a home-made cake or scones, home-made jam and clotted cream will welcome you on your arrival.
Pets will find a bed, food and water bowls, towels to wipe mucky paws and treats. We don't charge for pets but please respect the property by keeping pets clean from muddy paws and do not allow them on the furniture. We also ask that the garden is regularly cleared of dog waste. We will provide an initial supply of waste bags.
We welcome everyone, but ask that holiday makers respect the property and pay for any accidental damage.
Sorry, no smoking inside the house, but ashtrays are provided on the decking and in the garden.
A 20% deposit is required to secure booking please and full payment within 4 weeks prior to arrival.
Unfortunately, we need to ask for a security deposit of £200 to be received at least 5 working days before arrival which will be refunded within 3 days of departure, once the property has been cleaned. Full details will be sent with the booking contract.
Payment can be made by BACS, Cheque or Paypal.
Devon's climate has cool wet winters, and warm changeable summers. We cater for all eventualities, so
whilst visiting the South West its worth making the 24 mile trip to Dartmoor or Exmoor, walking the Tors, rock climbing and hiking. Cream Tea's at Widdicombe in the Moor. The children will love the River Dart Country Park or just playing / picnicking in the vast open spaces.
Beaches are never far away, 11 miles to Dawlish Warren, 9 miles to Exmouth with cycle routes to both.
Exeter is an up and coming City, with a population of approx 119600. It has increased in popularity with the new shopping centre in Princesshay and the weekly farmers market. The Car boot sale on Sunday mornings at Exeter cattle market is very popular whilst Rougemont gardens often hold the vintage fair throughout the year. The Devon County Show is held on the 17th, 18th and 19th of May this year.
If you are into music then Aeon Festival is a must go, held in Credition during August. Other music venues in town include The Lemongrove, Mama Stones and The Phoenix catering for all tastes.
