LA COLOMBIERE is an ideal relaxing location offering peace and tranquility that many adults seek on their well earned yearly break. The property nestles in a small hamlet in the Dordogne surrounded by vineyards and working farms but only minutes away from the essentials of French living: bread and wine! The local village of Eymet is just 7 minutes away with; 3 supermarkets, 5 restaurants, many bars and interesting small shops offering their own particular French wares. The property is set in 17 acres consisting lawns, parkland and some farmed land, and clients are free to enjoy all our facilities, the main feature being the 12 x 6 metre pool with sun loungers, terracing, poolside toilet, shower facilities and a small bar with fridge freezer for those cold beers/ice creams etc.,
The spacious accommodation is an old converted farmhouse with both old and new features. The front aspect offers views of the tree filled gardens and the rear views encompasses a large raised terrace, ideal for "al-fresco" dining with far reaching views of Puigeillum church high on the hill. The rear gardens also offer our small football pitch and volley/badminton area for the energetic whilst the covered gazebo can offer shelter from the mid-day sun or serve as a meeting place for the inevitable aperitives. There really is as much or as little as one wants to do.

Situated in the beautiful SW France La Colombiere nestles amongst the vineyards between the rivers Dordogne and Garonne and offers so much to do, whatever your preference. The area has an abundance of wine tasting chateaux, restaurants and cafes to suit every taste and budget and history to be marvelled at. We have a temperate climate here in the Bergerac area although the summers can be extremely hot. One of the great attractions to this area is canoeing down the Dordogne where one gets close up views of the chateaux which line the banks of this majestic river. The Atlantic coast at Archachon with it's great rolling waves is an ideal spot for surfers and is only two hours away. Alternatively the Mediterrean coast e.g. Montpellier etc is only four hours away via Toulouse and the Spanish border. For skiers out there, Andorra with it's magnificent all year-round ski resorts is five hours drive.
From June to September there is a wall to wall entertainment in the guise of fairs, fetes and festivals too numerous to list. We can only promise you that you will never be at a loss of finding something to do or somewhere to go. Most villages have a tourist office which is an excellent source of information and up to date details of organised activities. Our nearest small town is Eymet, which can only be described as beautifully French. It has a Bastide square where every single building is different and charming. Thursday is market day and is a must for visitors, so different is it from markets elsewhere. Bergerac is our nearest large town which is also a definite must for visitors. Bergerac has everthing to offer; it's new part is vibrant, colourful and busy with shops of every description. The old majestic buildings tower above their shoppers and there is a magnificent fountain in front of the Palais du Justice. In contrast the old town with it's cobbled streets, ancient, tilting buildings has an ambiance which will charm all who care to meander leisurely. There are restaurants at every turn to suit every taste and the River Dordogne is just a two minute walk. Whether you enter Bergerac over the old bridge or the new bridge you will be so pleased you visited this old, old town.
