The chalet (newly refurbished for 2012) is located in Kingsdown Holiday Park, which is situated in the quiet village of Kingsdown. The village has three pubs, two in the village and one situated right on the beach, providing excellent views across the channel.

The Town hall hosts a local Farmers Market every Wednesday. Stock up on local produce including free range eggs, bread, cakes, fruit and veg.

Deal Maritime Museum

Originating in 1540, this is the largest of Henry VIII’s coastal forts, with 119 gun positions and an important coastal defence.
The bustling port of Dover is about 9 miles away, providing easy access to cross channel trips, the famous White Cliffs and the stunning castle which dominates the landscape. The nearby town of Deal has a promenade, lovely pebble beaches and a pier (great for crabbing and fishing!).
Canterbury with its wonderful cathedral and great shopping lies 16 miles to the east. St Margarets Bay is great for rock-pooling at low tide.
