Given the age of the building, many of the rooms at El Cachete have original features (and some eccentricities!), in general the rooms are simple but comfortable in the Spanish style with terracotta floors and whitewashed walls. There are a variety of doubles/twins and single rooms all with small ensuite shower rooms and bathrooms (some with balconies), plus a domitory suitable for kids. The master bedroom is more luxurious, with a balcony and direct access to the pool via its own private staircase. There is a large large central living room with a bar area, TV/dvd and speakers with ipod connection, a piano and a table football table. There is a well equipped kitchen, with professional stainless steel food preparation areas, a large electric cooker, fridges/freezers and a dishwasher etc.
El Cachete is more than just a rental property, at times throughout the year this is our family home so it is full of books, games and music that you are welcome to enjoy when you come to visit. We hope you feel as at home here as we do!

The province of Granada is characterised by a breathtaking diversity of scenery from the fertile coastal plains up to the awesome mountain range of the Sierra Nevada, dotted with beautiful lakes, and dramatic rocky outcrops. Likewise the many tiny traditional villages, towns and cities of the province offer a fascinating glimpse of Spanish culture. There is something for everyone in the province, whether you are a nature lover, interested in Spanish culture and nightlife, or a shopaholic. The capital, Granada city, in particular is a must, with its narrow winding cobbled streets and teashops, and the unforgettable Alhambra Palace (a designated UNESCO world heritage site) a unique monument to the Moorish occupation of Spain.
Set midway between Granada and Malaga (approx 1 hour from both cities), El Cachete is very accessible but feels a million miles away from modern living. Set in olive groves with views to the Sierra de Loja mountains and the snow capped Sierra Nevada the farm provides a haven for wildlife and a wonderful base for walks, cycling and general exploring.
There are lots of local sites of interests and activities to keep everyone occupied. Kayaking on the nearby Iznajar lake (20 mins away), trekking in the Sierra de Loja (20 mins away), a visit to the Loja waterfall (10 mins away), a visit to the ancient white hilltop town of Archidona (10 mins away), a visit to the Antequerra wolf park (40 mins away), or the awesome limestone formations of El Torqual nature reserve (1 hour away). Have a look at the local attractions page of our website www.spanish-farmhouse.com for links to more information about the activities in the area.
