On the edge of the highlands, this area has the best of all worlds with access to the mountains, the lowlands and the 4 main cities in Scotland - Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee.
The Blairgowrie area is well served with golf courses with 16 courses within a half hour drive. It is within half an hour of the Glenshee and Lecht ski resorts, and is ideal as a base for fishing for the rivers Ericht, Isla and Tay.
Slightly further afield are Gleneagles, Carnoustie and St Andrews with its many golf courses to choose from.
This year Blairgowrie Golf Club is hosting the Junior Ryder Cup on the 24 August, and Gleneagles, 45 minutes drive away is hosting the Ryder Cup from 23 to 28 September.
For walkers there is the Catteran Trail and a varied choice of difficult or easy mountain and glen walks within easy reach.
