Withy Cottages are situated down a quiet lane in the village of Huish Episcopi on the edge of the beautiful Somerset Levels where they combine peace and tranquility with the convenience of being easy walking distance to Langport with its pubs, restaurants and shops. Ideal for weekly, mid-week or weekend stays for families, couples on a romantic holiday or special interests such as walking, bird watching, fishing and visiting the many national trust houses and historic monuments nearby.
Huish Episcopi and Langport are situated at the heart of the beautiful Somerset Levels mid-way between the county town of Taunton and Yeovil. The ancient beauty and diverse wildlife of the area makes it one of the landscapes that have inspired many artists and photographers as well as drawing visitors from all over the world. The ancient Muchelney Abbey is less than 2 miles from Huish Episcopi and Glastonbury Tor is only 12 miles away.
Dating from the early 1800's these blue lias stone cottages would have originally been thatched. It is believed that Withies were washed in the stream that runs in front of the cottages which were then stripped and dried in the back gardens before being made in to withy products.
The cottages have been tastefully renovated with many original features restored, we have decorated and furnished the cottages as if we were to be living there ourselves and we believe that we have made a truly comfortable home from home using only the very best to ensure that your stay with us is a wonderful experience.
No 2 Withy Cottage has two bedrooms – one double and the second bedroom has adult size bunk beds, bedrooms have ample storage space. There is a folding bed which can be placed in the lounge to accommodate a fifth person if required. Hotel quality bed linen with soft downy duvets and pillows. Its cosy sitting room has an open fire together with 2 comfy sofas a dining table that seats four and Free Sat TV. The cottage has gas central heating a fully equipped kitchen. Outside there is a private sunny patio area with seating for 4 with a BBQ for the summer. Bathroom has a large walk in shower, luxury towels, robes & toiletries.

The ancient Muchelney Abbey is less than 2 km from Huish Episcopi and Glastonbury Tor is only 21km away. Fabulous coast and beaches at West Bay a small fishing village and harbour only 44km away. We are very close to the historic town of Glastonbury and Pilton where the world famous festival takes place in June. During November the carnival season comes to Somerset where you can see the largest illuminated carnival in the world. The floats can be huge, over 50 feet long and covered in thousands of light bulbs. Drawing awe and wonder from the crowds, these floats are the results of months of work by the Carnival Clubs. Also in the Autumn for bird watchers is the fabulous "murmurations", surely one of nature's best and most magnificent sights, the starlings form into sweeping ball like shapes in their thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands before flying down and roosting in the trees.
