La Baie du Mont Saint Michel is a UNESCO world heritage site on the Brittany and Normandy border.
The tidal movements in this area are significant, the coefficients between high and low tides are amongst the highest in Europe and fascinating to watch as the tide comes in pretty quickly at a speed of up to 6km/h.
The bay is fed by 3 small rivers; the Couesnon, which is topped by Le Mont Saint Michel, the Sée and the Sélune and has a vast array of wildlife and flora. The bay being coastal and relatively flat means that is is fabulous for walking and cycling.
One of the main benefits of coming to this area is its proximity to a huge array of interests and attractions - there is never 'nothing to do or see'
