Sardinia is an ancient land, the most ancient in Italy. Sardinia is 1800 km. of coastline which embraces the mountainous and wild heart of the island. The landscape, untouched and of unique beauty, is symbolized by the delicate and scenty peony, turquoise sea, forests of holm-oaks and oaks, magnificient pink flamingoes. The Sardinian vast region offers innumerable views and panoramas; it is world famous for its splendid seaside resorts, such as Santa Teresa di Gallura, Chia,Villasimius, Costa Smeralda (with its exclusive Porto Rotondo) and Porto Cervo. Sardinia is all this and much more. It is an island distinguished by a strong local culture which expresses its own identity and keeps a unique heritage including archeology, history, museums, environment and folklore.
The wealth of folk traditions becomes manifest both in the countless village fairs and in the production of renowned crafts.
Bread is an essential element of Sardinian gastronomy. Bread has different shapes and meanings in different places of the island. The most popular kind of bread is “carasau”, typical of Barbagia. Meat is excellent, too: lambs, kids and, “porchetti” (small pigs) barbecued and made tastier thanks to the white-hot lard dripping during the cooking on the fire. Fish dishes can be tried in all the seaside resorts: Cabras is the capital of the mullet (“bottarga” is made of mullet dried eggs), Alghero is very popular for lobsters prepared in Catalonia style , Carloforte speciality is tunny fish in tomato sauce.
Carnival is an emblem. All over the island there is a succession of celebrations connected to ancient ceremonies:pagan and religious rites at the same time. The feast is celebrated with parades of masks and floats. The typical Carnival sweets can be tasted in the squares, amid laughters, jokes and dances. In Barbagia, Carnival has mysterious, unique features. Mamuthones and Issokadores from Mamoiada, Merdules and Boes from Ottana, Thurpos from Orotelli are gloomy masks dancing at the repetitive and disquietening sound of cow bells.
Everybody, once in their lifetime, should visit Sardinia. It's a truly special place. And the chances are, if you've been once, that you'll want to go again. And again. Since the 1960s,Sardinia has attracted tourists but it has gone one step beyond and has now become one of Europe's (if not the world's) most exclusive and luxurious holiday destinations. Regardless of what your vacation expectations are, Sardinia will have it. From luxury pool villas perfect for families to glamorous party palaces for the fun seeking jet setters, Sardinia has something for all tastes and desires. Not surprisingly, properties get snapped up very, very early in Sardinia – but there are a handful of dazzlers still available. Check them out – and if you want a taste of ISardinia's highlife this summer, don't delay!

Pula is a pretty town just a short ride away. It has the classic church in the town square and a piazza that often has live music in the summer months. There are a handful of great restaurants each serving the catch of the day - sea bass, orata and lobster are common on menus. Despite being a small town there are at least 4 gelaterias selling home-made ice cream (1Euro a scoop)
The coastline from Pula heading west is stunning with large beaches and smaller inlets to be found dotted everywhere. All the beaches have white sand and crystal clear sea......they are ideal for children.
For the more adventurous there are lots and lots of walking tours/hikes in the mountains to the north of our villa and for those keen on golf, Is Molas is 15min away (a very well known course that has held the Italian Open). Other activities such as horse riding, sailing, kite surfing and kayaking are available within a short ride
Pula offers visitors not only nice shops, bars, pizzerias, restaurants and supermarkets but an array of gastronomic specialities: from the excellent sea food specialities to the ancient cooking traditions of the shepherds. Very closed to Pula is the Roman amphitheatre of Nora, that lies directly on the sea and is used for a music festival in summer.
