Rose Cottage was converted from two adjoining barns overlooking the old courtyard at New Moor House. Both have four-poster beds and warm log burning stoves to offer the ideal romantic retreat in the countryside for couples. Located between Alnwick and Rothbury in the Heart of Northumberland, Rose Cottage provides the ideal base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. This traditional Cottage has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break in the Country, while still being within easy striking distance of the attractions in Alnwick, Cragside House, Northumberland National Park and Gardens and of course Northumberland's Heritage Coastline.
The ground floor has an open plan Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen with a cosy log burning stove for the colder months. The Living Room comfortably seats two with an LCD TV, Radio/Cassette player, CD player and DVD player for your entertainment. Although the property has full gas central heating it's always nice to have a real fire on holiday and we provide all the fuel you'll need for the log burner. The well equipped Kitchen comes complete with an automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, electric oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and an excellent range of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment.
We have just installed Satellite Broadband for Wifi and are also very lucky to have our own private water supply of very pure spring water!
There is an open staircase leading up to the first floor with a double bedroom and a Bathroom with three piece suite, bidet, shaver point and over-bath shower. The Double bedroom has a large four poster bed and plenty of storage space, with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. All Duvets, bed linen and towels are provided for you during your stay at the Cottage. Families are well catered for at Rose Cottage with a cot and high chair supplied at no additional cost (although for health and safety reasons we do ask that you bring your own linen for the cot should you wish to use it). Well behaved pets are welcome to stay in Rose Cottage.
Rose Cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside with picture windows, lovely views and woodland gardens with picnic areas to enjoy. We even have a drying room for all your wet weather gear if you're a keen walker! There is ample off road private parking at New Moor House in the courtyard. The Cottage also benefits from "Hay holts" with soundproofed interconnecting doorways which allow Rose Cottage to be connected to Briar Cottage so that it can be shared by a group of 4 people whilst still maintaining privacy.
