4 Marine Cottages is a wonderful holiday cottage situated ON the beach at Camber Sands and is a perfect beach retreat. The cottage looks out onto Camber's miles of sandy beach and offers a raised deck area on which to sit with steps leading down to a cordoned off area of private beach shared by the cottages. The historic towns of Rye and Winchelsea are a short distance by car and there are many other local attractions to explore. Number 6 is also available for rental, which would be perfect for enjoying a holiday with larger family groups.

Ground floor

As you arrive into the hall at Number 4 you have a breath taking view straight through to the beach and sea beyond. There is plenty of room to hang up your beach bags, store your flip-flops, buckets and spades and in the winter your coats, hats and boots after long walks on the beach. There is a modern bathroom to the left of the front door with a bath and overhead shower, WC and basin. The hall opens onto the open plan sitting room which has a sofa and seating for 6 people, provided with side tables, lamps and a flat screen TV with Freeview. Leading from the sitting room is a downstairs bedroom with a single bed, with a chest of drawers and hooks and hangers on the back of the door.

The dining area is at the end of the sitting room and has a table and seating for 6 with wonderful views across the beach and sea. The kitchen at the front of the house, adjacent to and with the same views as the dining room, is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, electric single oven and hob, toaster and kettle, washing machine, dryer and an extra fridge.

First floor

A wooden staircase leads from the sitting room up to the first floor where there is a bunk room, with dune views. The room has bunk beds and a single bed, chest of drawers, hanging space, hooks and hangers on the back of the doors and lighting for each bed. The master bedroom has sea views, bedside tables with built-in storage and lamps. The master room also has a sun room through to the front of the house with views over the beach and sea – a great sun spot for chilling and reading a book. This lovely, practical holiday house is 'very much on the beach', great for enjoying the buzz of the beach in high season and for getting away from it all at other times of year.

Parking permit for one car in the car park is included in the rental price. Wi-Fi, selection of CDs and DVDs, basket full of Brio, board games, books, beach towels, beach toys, deck chairs, parasol, picnic plates and glasses, towels, bedlinen, high chair, stairgate and travel cot.

Marine Cottages has a wonderful decked area at the back of the house almost on the beach with fantastic views across the beach and the sea. Steps down directly to the beach and your own private bit of beach cordoned off for the use of the cottages - just perfect!

Booking information

Sorry no pets, strictly no smoking in this property. Prices include bed linen, towels, all utilities, pre-arrival and departure cleaning and a welcome pack.

The changeover day for weekly bookings is a Saturday in high season. Other start days may be possible on request in the low and mid-season. Short breaks may commence on any day.

There is a £24 booking fee per holiday and a £250 security deposit is required prior to arrival which can be pre-authorised on a credit/debit card.

Camber Sands beach is a huge stretch of golden sands enclosed by sand dunes that protect the beach at Camber. It is only a two hour's drive from London. It is being newly rediscovered as a UK holiday destination of choice and was voted number 9 of the 100 Best Beaches in the World by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. The unspoilt beauty of the beach as well as its sheer size have made it a popular location for fashion photo shoots and films including doubling as the Sahara Desert in a 'Carry On' film and as the Dunkirk evacuation beaches in several war epics. it a popular location for horse-riding and kite-surfing. The shallow sea is ideal for children. The famous market town of Rye is only a few minutes drive away.

Camber has become a popular place for water sports and it is a great place for kite surfing, windsurfing, water skiing, wake boarding and jet skiing are all available locally either from the beach or on a large coastal lake just outside Camber. There is also sailing on the river Rother 3 miles from Camber.

For swimming, the beach boasts a yellow flag award from the MCS, the highest UK award for water quality standards. Golf lovers are well catered for with an impressive 44 courses within a 30 mile radius. Tennis courts and bicycle hire are also available locally. There are many local walks with natural and historical points of interest.

The village of Camber has a couple of pubs including The Dunes café and restaurant, and the award-winning The Gallivant at the Beach Bar and has a range of delicious dishes made from local, free range and organic ingredients with BBQ's in the summer. The Kit Kat Club is ideal for children and meals on the beach. The medieval town of Rye is about an 8 min drive and this also offers an excellent selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants. Alternatively buy and barbecue your own fresh seafood!
