Delightful flint and brick cottage in the grounds of the owners 16th Century thatched property situated in the hamlet of Strettington, on the edge of the Goodwood estate.

Single storey mainly open plan, studio style accommodation. Consisting of separate kitchen and dining area with electric cooker, microwave, toaster, washing machine and fridge-freezer.

The combined bed / sitting room has a feature fireplace and houses a double bed, small wardrobe, leather sofa, tv/dvd and ipod docking station. There is also a large selection of recent dvds available to watch.

Patio doors lead out to your own pretty patio and cottage garden area with a chimnea, bbq and garden furniture. A picnic hamper and rug are also provided for your trips to either the beach or the wonderful surrounding countryside.

The shower room has a double sized shower. Complimentary Molton Brown toiletries are provided.

An adjoining single bedroom is also available for a third guest at additional cost.

Goodwood House is within walking distance as is the Goodwood Park hotel which offers a picturesque Pay and Play golf course plus restaurants which are open to non-residents.

Please note: Over the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed a short break of up to 4 nights will cost £600 or £700 for a 5 - 7 night stay.

An adjoining single bedroom is available for either a child or 3rd adult at a total additional cost of £75 for stays of between 1 and 3 nights. For stays of 4 to 7 nights the total charge for use of the extra room is £120.

The South East England region

This area of the south east enjoys some of the best weather in the UK.

It offers diverse landscapes from the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park to the lovely unspoilt sandy beach at West Wittering. The area is steeped in history and offers many fabulous places to visit such as Chichester, with its Roman connections, Arundel, Petworth and Midhurst. Further afield, Portsmouth and Brighton are within an hours drive and London is only 60miles away.

Chichester

Within walking distance of Elm Cottage is the Goodwood Estate, home of Lord and Lady March. Internationally renowned for its horse racing and motor sport, the famous Festival of Speed and The Revival meeting are not to be missed. Goodwood House is open to the public throughout the year as is the beautiful Sculpture Park. Golf is available at the Goodwood Park hotel for non hotel guests.

2 miles away lies the historic walled city of Chichester famous for its Norman cathedral and Roman connections. Chichester offers fabulous shopping, restaurants and of course the Chichester Festival Theatre which attracts many of the worlds top actors to its stage.

A 10 minute drive will take you to the charming town of Arundel situated on the river Arun. With its impressive castle, numerous art, antique and tea shops plus boat trips, Arundel is the perfect day out for all ages.

There are excellent sailing and watersports facilities on the nearby coast at Bosham and Itchenor and the non-commercial sandy beach and sand dunes at West Wittering are beautiful.

The fascinating Roman Palace at Fishbourne is a15 minute drive away. It houses the largest insitu collection of mosaic floor in Britain. The Weald and Down Open Air museum at Singleton is like stepping back in time, with its large collection of traditional rural buildings which have been saved from destruction and relocated to the museums picturesque site.
