Set on a quiet road just a stone's throw from Biggar High Street, this 19th century listed cottage was sympathetically renovated in 2014. Featuring views of the hills, original beamed ceilings, woodburning stove, solid oak kitchen, conservatory and free WiFi, it retains all its original charm while providing every modern comfort. Tiny from the outside but amazingly spacious and light within, it is decorated, furnished and equipped to an excellent standard. It has been awarded Four Stars by Visit Scotland.

The sitting room is on ground level, with woodburning stove, a range of ambient lighting, comfortable seating and a 32" HD TV with internet and Blu Ray DVD player. There is also a selection of books, magazines and DVDs. Double glass doors lead from the sitting room to the spacious, quarry tiled kitchen with dining table and chairs, fully integrated appliances, high quality cooking equipment and overhead airer. Further glass doors lead from the kitchen to the conservatory and there is also a glass back door to the small terrace area that catches the sun for most of the day. A staircase leads from the sitting room to the tranquil upstairs bedroom with its view of the hills, king size bed, luxury bedding and dual control electric blanket. Next to the bedroom is the bathroom with bath and overhead thermostatic dual flow shower.

There is a regular bus service to the centre of Edinburgh and a bus service to Lanark which stops directly beside the train station for Glasgow. By car, Biggar is also convenient for the M74, the Scottish Borders and the beaches of the east coast. The town is also a great base for walkers and for a huge range of activities and visitor attractions.

Prices include utilities, coal and/or wood, free WiFi, linen and towels and basic household and washing supplies.

Ferniehaugh is a sister property of Weston Farm, Dunsyre which offers Four Star Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the traditional farmhouse.
