The Limassol District

Lemesos, (Limassol) is the second largest city in Cyprus, after Nicosia. It is located on Akrotiri Bay between the ancient towns of Amathus and Kourion. It is the largest city in geographical size, as well as being the biggest municipality of Cyprus. Limassol is a home for around 179,900 people (2005).

The city is well known for its biggest port in the Mediterranean transportation trade. This richly cultured city has become one of the most important tourism destinations in Cyprus. It is also a hub for trade and services in the area.

As well as the awesome sea sights and attractions, Limassol provides luxurious accommodation facilities for tourists, offering some of the most impressive villas in cyprus.

Limassol beaches

The city of Limassol has the longest coastline of all the cities in Cyprus. The city offers a diverse style of public and controlled beaches.

Featured below are some of the most popular tourist beaches in Limassol.

Ladies' Mile

This is a superb beach with grainy white sand and shallow clear water. It is located near the New Limassol port and can be reached in 15 minutes from Limassol’s town centre. It is one of the safest beaches for children and the facilities for windsurfing are assured. It is a perfect place to enjoy a swim, sunbathe or a peaceful walk along the sandy beach.(Distance from Pissouri-10min.driving)

Governor's Beach

This beach is not as crowded as others and is located midway between Larnaca and Limassol. Governor’s beach has a sandy coastline and shallow clear water with a rocky area beneath the shore ideal for snorkeling and fishing. It is a relaxing beach where you can witness a beautiful sunrise and enjoy a meal in a typical Greek Cypriot Taverna just a few metres away from the crystal clear water of the Meditternean sea.

Kourion Beach

This is a large beach and is one of the most spectacular beaches in Limassol. The ruins of the Ancient Roman Kourion Amphitheatre is just next to the beach on a high mountain, which is also a popular spot for hand-gliders to emerge from. Sailing and wind-surfing opportunities are assured here but sometimes the beach can get very overcrowded with swimmers.(distance from Pissouri,10 min.driving)

Pissouri Beach

This beach is located midway between Limassol and Paphos. The beach is clean with warm water and it is one of the safest for swimming, offering water sports acivities during the summer months. It is a quiet and unspoilt area as Pissouri is a small village which does not get overcrowded with many tourists. Furthermore, there are many restaurants along the beach offering the delicious traditional cuisines of Cyprus.(dinstance from our villa-2 minutes driving)

Pissouri

The place where Aphrodite ,goddess of beauty choose to come in life.I dont thing anybody could imagine a better place for that specific moment.Pissouri village is on the half way from Limassol to Pafos fifteen minutes from Pafos airport and Pafos town with the fishing harbour and fish taverns, its middle ages castle ,the mosaics of Dionysos house and the ancient amphitheaters of Pafos and Kourion. At Pissouri bay you may enjoy swimming or trying jetskiing or parachutting if you are courageous. Enjoy your nights out at Pissouri square taverns and pubs and next day try golf courses at Aphrodites hills.

A beautiful coastal setting for a villa holiday in the sun- drenched island of Cyprus. Situated at the South-west of Cyprus, it has a unique character and charm and is split into two distinct communities, a few minutes apart by car, Pissouri village and Pissouri Beach. It is difficult to do justice to Pissouri in a few words; it has a unique character and attractiveness to the villa holiday-maker. The Cypriot character has been retained and it is still very much a working village of farmers. Its very Cypriot character has not been lost; an abundance of quality restaurants, shops and supermarkets are all in keeping with the aesthetics of the area.
