The Cumbria/Lake District

England's largest National Park. The Lake District has more than 3,500 kilometres of rights of way and 12 of the largest lakes in England. It has spectacular scenery all around.

The Lake District has something for everybody to enjoy whether it's walking, climbing, cycling, exploring the beautiful countryside on foot, by car, on horseback or by boat. You can also play golf, go fishing, visit historic places of interest and shop - you won't be disappointed. The Lake District has inspired many famous people including Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth and John Ruskin to name but a few.

The Lake District is also a foodie's heaven with many locally produced products to sample.

Kirkby Lonsdale

The property is within walking distant to the historic Kirkby Lonsdale - a market town on the boundaries of Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire and was included in the Domesday Book of 1086. It has 17th and 18th century buildings and is famous for Ruskin’s View – a painting of the River Lune by the artist Turner. It is also famous for Devil’s Bridge which is a three arched bridge that spans the River Lune.

Kirkby Lonsdale oozes history but is also known for its trendy shops. It retains individual chic boutiques, restaurants and attractive 17th and 18th century inns.

There are many riverside and country walks in the area including a challening walk up one of the 3 peaks - Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent for the more adventurous!

The property is a luxurious base from where to explore some of England’s most beautiful countryside and is perfect for cycling, fishing, walking, horseriding, birdwatching, golfing or simply relaxing and being close to nature. It is the perfect place to enjoy that special break away at any time of the year and includes complimentary use of the superb on-site leisure facilities.
