Cheddar has been a popular tourist destination for many years with its famous caves, gorge and Jacobs Ladder. Nearby, the medieval town of Axbridge has the historic King Johns Hunting Lodge and 15th C Church of St Johns. The cathedral city of Wells is 15 minutes away and Glastonbury and Street both a similar distance. Slightly further a field but both within easy travelling distance are Bristol and Bath and the seaside towns of Weston Super Mare and Burnham On Sea are both only twelve miles away. Axbridge is a great base from which to explore the Somerset and North Somerset area.
