Our apartment is situated within the Forest View Complex which is centrally located in the Chamonix style village of Govedartsi in Bulgaria. One bedroomed with an additional sofa bed in the lounge area, makes this ideal accommodation for friends, couples or families (maximum of four). The apartment is fully furnished with everything you will need for your visit including bedding and full self catering facilities. The complex also has a leisure centre on site. It offers a gynasium, massage and therapy rooms and sauna. After all that exercise, there’s also a bar for you to relax and replenish. Also available are private ski lockers, on site security and 24 hour manned reception with helpful staff to assist with making your holiday relaxing and enjoyable.
The nearest shops are visible from the Complex, with further shops and restaurants available within the village, only a short walk from the Complex. In the town of Samokov, which is approximately 18 km away from Govedartsi are three big supermarkets.
Situated in a beautiful setting, the amazing unspoilt views of the mountains and village itself can be enjoyed with a drink in hand, from the apartment's balcony.
Only a short drive away from two excellent ski resorts - Govedartsi and Borovets, also makes this the perfect holiday destination for ski lovers. Bulgaria’s top ski resort Borovets is only 20kms away where some of the best ski facilities can be found along with plenty of exciting nightlife and apres-ski. In the opposite direction, the smaller resort of Malyovitsa can be found which is great for family orientated ski groups while offering some very challenging runs for more advanced skiers. Govedartsi, as well as being the closest village to Malyovitsa has regular public transport to both resorts and also has its own ski facilities. Just outside the village, is a 3km long ski run with ski lift. With the beautiful surrounding scenery and peaceful atmosphere, it is a great place to enjoy a days skiing.
The apartment is also perfect for a summer holiday, with its lovely summer climate. Private beaches and watersports activities can be found at the nearby Iskar River. The village of Govedartsi also lies at the foot of the Rila Mountains, which is the starting point for many walking/mountain biking routes.

Borovets is one of the best ski resort of the Balkans and caters well for all levels and ages.
Ideally located just 1 hour away from Sofia and its many attractions it offers beautiful scenery with tradition and style. The area is perfect for skiing and boarding throughout the winter months yet hot and sunny in the summer with the mountain air to cool you.. All set in the heart of the Rila mountain range and home to the highest peak (Mousala) at 2925m there is so much more to enjoy here in this unspoiled country.
The majestic Rila Mountains boast a marvellous array of landscapes, including 180 perennial lakes and streams and numerous mineral springs. At 2925 metres Mount Mousala, which towers above Borovets, is the highest peak in the country and is an excellent place for snow activities in the winter and for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding in the summer months.
Places of interest include the RiIa Monastery, Bulgaria's largest and most renowned monastery which is a Unesco World Heritage site. The largest lake, Lake Iskar, is only a short drive away and offers beaches and wakeboarding, water skiing, boat hire and other water activities.
Sofia, Bulgaria's bustling cosmopolitan capital and largest city is approximately 70KM away from Goverdartsi by car. Most of Sofia's sights such as domed churches, art galleries and museums, are handily located in the compact city centre so you can see plenty in a day. Remeber not to miss the wonderful inspiring Aleksander Nevski Memorial Church.
Out of all the Rila mountain villages in the Samokov and Borovets region, Goverdartsi is the largest. As it has ski facilities it is a mini resort in its own right. The scenery around is breathtaking and the village has numerous facilities including ski rentals, restaurants, hotels and shops. The beautiful Cherni Iskar River flows through the centre of the village. The skiing is very good quality with ski lifts and quality ski runs that benefit from having substantial snow coverage from December through to the beginning of April. Value for money is excellent!
The village of Govedartsi lies at the foot of the Rila Mountains, near the Iskar River. It is the starting point for many walking/mountain biking routes into the mountains including the famous Seven Rila Lakes. Other popular and unique destinations include:

The first 3 are definitely worth a visit as the settings of these large chalets are stunning and a lovely place to stop for coffee and lunch. For any rambler, mountain walker or anyone also interested in visiting these places, then Goverdartsi is certainly the place to be. There is a wealth of natural beauty to admire and enjoy and lovely, easier walks for those looking for a more relaxing walk.
Govedartsi is only a short drive away from the town of Samokov. This typical Bulgarian town has lots to offer such as outdoor swimming pools and restaurants which are very cheap to enjoy. Samokov also has 3 large supermarkets stocking everything you will need for your self-catering stay.
Dolnya Banya and Ihtiman are excellent golf courses and situated approximately 40km from the village of Govedartsi.
Approximately 90 minutes drive away from Govedartsi, you can find Bulgaria’s largest and most renowned monastery - the Rila Monastery is a major attraction and must not be missed.
Although Govedartsi has its own ski facilities, it is also situated close to Borovets which is another excellent ski resort. Situated only 20km’s from Govedartsi, its’ ski facilities offer good ski lifts and runs for every level of skier. It also has a wide range of restaurants and bars, providing excellent places to enjoy après ski.

Lake Iskar is Bulgaria's largest inland lake stretching for 15kms along the main Sofia-Borovets road, it is an impressive sight. With private coves and bays, you are spoilt for choice looking for a private area to spend a few hours with friends and family. There are 3 restaurants along the lake, the most popular being the one right by the shore. Here you can sit on the terrace, enjoying your meal overlooking the majority of the lake. Nearby boats and pedaloes can also be rented out to enjoy different views of the lake.
Public transport systems are good with buses leaving regularly from Samokov, through the village of Govedartsi and then onto Borovets. From Samokov, Sofia can be accessed (buses leave every 30 minutes) as well as other destinations. Transport to the pitcutresque resort of Malyiovitsa is also available. Good value taxis are also available. From Goverdartsi, Sofia is situated 70kms away, Samokov is 13kms away and Borovets ski resort is 20kms away.
