Cornwall is England's favourite holiday destination, and with good reason! Miles of beautiful sandy beaches, stunning coastal scenery, and a cultural heritage that has made it home to hundreds of artists over the years.
Carbis Bay is a beautiful, calm, safe blue flag beach perfect for family holidays. As well as swimming, there is a watersports centre where you can try your hand at kayaking, sailing or even stand-up paddle boarding. A nice beach cafe or the Carbis Bay Hotel will serve lunches and snacks.
It is just a short distance to St Ives - a lovely coastal 20 minute walk or hop on the train if you don't want to drive in. Here you will find a wide range of restaurants, including some very high quality laces like the Porthminster Cafe, Porthmeor Cafe or Alba. There is a beautiful harbour and four more glorious beaches. You can learn to surf at Porthmeor, or enjoy the calm waters and soft sand on Porthminster beach. Don't forget to browse the boutique shops and art galleries, and have a visit to the Tate gallery.
Further afield, you can take fantastic day trips to St Michaels Mount, Porthcurno to visit the amazing cliffside Minack Theatre and Telegraph Museum, surfing at Sennen Cove and Gwithian, and a visit to the Eden Project.
