The Garden Apartment is situated on the ground floor of a large privately owned property just 3 minutes across from acres of safe sandy beach. It offers complete privacy in a 5* location at competitive tariffs . Guests are welcomed with a Devonshire cream tea, children get a goodie bag and we leave you a bottle of wine to enjoy on the terrace. The Garden Apartment enjoys a core of loyal returning guests.

The newly refurbished apartment has a spacious living/dining room which is attractive and comfortable. There is a new digital colour TV and DVD with an up to date selection for all age groups. There is also an extensive library of books/toys for children. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 3' twin beds. The kitchen is very well equipped with electric stove, microwave, 2 refrigerators, a washing machine and spin dryer and a coffee percolator. The bathroom has a Bath and electric shower with grab rails to assist more vulnerable guests. The apartment is centrally heated and is therefore an ideal year round location. Just 3 minutes walk through the garden takes you to acres of magnificent safe, sandy beaches with Cafe, Showers and Toilets along with the all important RNLI Lifeguard cover from May to September.

The Five Star Burgh Island Hotel, was the location for Agatha Christie's "Evil under the Sun". There you can enjoy dinner and dancing in the magnificent Art Deco surroundings. At low tide you can take a 500 yard stroll across the sand and walk round the island up to the Huer's hut, originally the site of a 600 A.D Monastery. You can then stop for anything from a drink, light snacks to a full meal at 14th Century Pilchard Inn built in 1336, haunt of the smuggler Tom Crocker. You will not be left stranded as a unique stilted sea-tractor, conveys visitors back to the mainland.

Set in the heart of the South Hams, close by are numerous places of interest, including the sophisticated yachting centre of Salcombe, historic Dartmouth and Plymouth and their connections with Sir Francis Drake and the Pilgrim Fathers.

The Garden Apartment is just a 3 minute walk down through the garden to acres of safe sandy beach with Café, Toilets/Changing Rooms and showers. The RNLI have Lifeguards on duty from May to September. The famous Art Deco Burgh Island is just a 500 yard stroll across the beach at low tide. The unique stilted Sea Tractor conveys visitors back from the Island to the mainland at high water.

Bigbury-on-Sea

Wonderful coastal walks, bird watching, sailing, surfing, deep-sea fishing and wind and kite surfing are just a few of the many activities available and Bigbury boasts its own 18 hole golf course just a mile away. The views are so spectacular they will play havoc with your handicap! Golfers enjoy the excellent Bar and Restaurant in the Clubhouse. Discovery Surf School operates from Sedgewell Beach just opposite The Garden Apartment at "Folly Rise" and is popular with all age groups.

10 miles hence there's wild and rolling Dartmoor with it's ponies and heather. The National Trust have many glorious gardens and fascinating historical houses to visit. For the children there are theme parks, children's farms and leisure centres - AND OF COURSE THE FABULOUS BIGBURY ON SEA BEACH!
