Gorgeous stone cottage on the banks of the River Thames.

Downstairs is a large open living / dining area with access to decking around two sides of the house through three sets of french doors. The kitchen is accessed through double glass panelled doors. There is a TV, some comfortable sofas, a sideboard and large dining table with eight chairs.

The kitchen is modern with integrated appliances: fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer, combi microwave, oven, ceramic hob and very well equipped with almost everything a good cook needs. Also downstairs is a separate WC and boot room.

There are two large levels of decking at the back of the house with seating and BBQ. The decking also extends down the side of the house along the banks of the Thames. There is a lockable gate to the lower decking, which is open to the river and the water garden that flows along one side of the house. Opposite the house, across the River Thames, is Mill Lake and we also have a small plot by the lake shore.

Upstairs are four bedrooms (two doubles en-suite with small balconies and 2 small singles) and a shared bathroom. The two main bedrooms have large double beds (a travel cot and high chair are available). The two single rooms have single truckle beds. We recommend that adults or older children use these rooms as single rooms only. Once the truckle bed is erected these rooms can accommodate 2 smaller children but space is going to be very tight. We used these for when our sons cousins visited so they thought it was great to share with them!

Thames Rest is a low carbon holiday home. Heating and hot water is supplied by wood pellet boiler. Downstairs we have underfloor heating, upstairs are traditional radiators. All of our electricity is produced from renewable energy sources of which a small element is produced on our roof.

Thamesrest is part of Lower Mill Estate a 500 acre residential nature reserve. The estate is gated, managed and includes seven lakes. There is an outside (heated) pool, tennis, sauna, play area, fishing and birdwatching hides. There is a small shop on site.

We have friends with a house across the way on the Water Garden so that if you need more space than just one house we may be able to help accommodate a larger party. Its a good place to have holidays with family and friends.
