A delightfully, spacious, detached 4 bedroom and 4 bathroom villa, with private swimming pool, in the lovely resort of S'Algar
The villa has 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, each with patio doors directly out to the pool area. There are 2 twin rooms, each with its own adjacent bathroom; one includes separate shower and bath, whilst the other is a shower room. The third bedroom, on the ground floor, is a double with en-suite shower room. The fourth bedroom is located at the front of the property, between the ground and first floor levels; it is also a double bed with an en-suite bathroom (including separate shower and bath). All bedrooms are fitted with overhead fans and have ample wardrobe space.
The open plan dining and living space is on the first floor, adjacent to the kitchen. Patio doors lead to an undercover balcony terrace. In the living area: there is a widescreen TV and DVD player (large collection of DVD's), a radio/CD/USB/iPod player, provided for your entertainment. Unfortunately, due to adjustments made to the UK TV Satelite (in early 2014) following the decision by the BBC to prevent none UK TV License payers from receiving BBC transmissions - the TV can no longer receive UK Freeview channels. However, Sky channels, including sports and movies are available.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, ceramic hob, washing machine, small dishwasher and American fridge freezer with icemaker and water dispenser.
Situated in a quiet lane, with the pool and barbeque terraces to the rear, the villa is very private. The 8x4m pool has offset steps at the shallow end and underwater lighting for safe bathing after dark. There are ample sun beds to take advantage of both sun and shade. The traditional Menorcan chimney barbeque is on a large paved terrace adjacent to the pool, just waiting for you to cook up a wonderful outdoor feast.
The villa is less than 3-minutes walk to the sea front and the S'Algar Hotel. A 5-minute stroll (400 meters) will bring you to a selection of shops, restaurants and a supermarket. The hotels in the resort also admit non-residents to their restaurants and entertainment evenings.
S'Algar is on the South East Coast and is one of the best-kept resorts in Menorca. It is an ideal base whether you prefer a relaxing holiday or choose to be more active. A variety of pursuits are close by and these include scuba diving, bowling, tennis, parascending and swimming. There are interesting walks along the coast, one of which will take you to the historic cove at Alcafar.
Car hire is not essential at this villa but we recommend it to allow you to see more of this beautiful island.

Menorca is the most northern, and second largest of the Balearic Islands, situated only 34km (21 miles) from Mallorca. The island of Menorca is one of the quieter Balearic Islands, it's a wonderful destination for a family holiday, with its many beautiful and unspoilt beaches - you may be surprised to learn the island has almost as many beaches as Mallorca and Ibiza combined.
The north coast of Menorca is rocky and rough, with sleepy fishing villages dotted along it. In contrast, the south coast is full of secluded coves, with fine, golden sand, sheltered by cliffs, and where a number of quiet, peaceful holiday resorts have developed. Menorca has generally managed to escape the effects of package holidays, and the island's small towns and villages offer a quiet and relaxing holiday.
Mahon (the capital) is only 8km north of S'Algar, it is situated at the end of an enormous natural harbour, on the eastern side of the island. The town is well worth a visit, (best explored on foot) there are shops, cafes and restaurants, and an outdoor market, twice a week, in the main square (Placa de s'Esplanada).
Ciudadella (the former capital) is situated at the opposite end of the island. Ciudadela is home to a cathedral, partly dating from the 14th century, and also boasts several elegant palaces and medieval churches.
Sant Lluis, (approx 4km south of Mahon), is the nearest working town/village to the holiday resort of S'Algar, (villa location). Sant Lluis is approx 4km (10 minute drive) from S'Algar, and is where you will find the nearest banks/ATMs, Chemists and Tobacconists. Just outside Sant Luis centre, there are a few shops with a large supermarket - recommended for your large grocery shop, if you have a car.
S'Algar Resort is situated on the south east coast of the island; it is a small purpose built resort which is ideal for those seeking a quiet, relaxing holiday. However, it is important to point out that S'Algar does not have a beach, although there is access to go swimming in the sea via a number of steps along the rocks. A sand beach can be found in the cove of Alcafar, only a 15-minute stroll along the coast.
The pretty cove at Alcafar is accessible by walking around the coastline (1km) or by a 5-minute car ride (2.5km). Punta Prima (6km) and Binibeca (7.5km) beaches are only a short drive away and the working village of Sant Lluis is only a few minutes drive and to which there is a regular bus service. This bus service continues to the Capital City of Mahon (Maó).
S'Algar offers a number of amenities including a small supermarket, bakers, newsagents / souvenir shops and a selection of bars, restaurants and cafes for your refreshment, all within 400 meters of the villa.
For the more energetic, there are a good number of activities available in the resort - there is a diving school, which offers a wide range of water sports including scuba diving, windsurfing, jet skiing and water skiing. Tennis, horse riding, archery and bowls are also available, many of which can be found at the San Luis Hotel, only two minutes walk from the villa.
The nightlife is relatively quiet with visitors generally enjoying a meal or drink at one of the restaurants or bars. The hotels regularly provide evening entertainment for guests with live music or shows, which you are welcome to enjoy.
