Incomparable Provence - land of magic and dreams, light and colour, savoir vivre and art... Enjoy its endless lavender fields and olive groves, heady scents of pine trees, herbs and earth, azure blue bays and majestic limestone mountains. A first shy flirt will nearly always turn into a great and never ending love...
There is so much to see, so many things to do. The region's main attractions include the breathtaking Verdon Canyon, the majestic limestone massifs and hiker paradise of Sainte-Victoire, Sainte-Baume and Luberon, the beautiful sandy beaches of La Londe-les-Maures, the untouched island of Porquerolles, the exciting French Riviera, the extraordinary rocky bays "Calanques" of Cassis, the cities of Avignon, Marseilles, Nice, Saint Tropez or Aix and the wide variety of picturesque villages which can be easily explored by car or bicycle.
La Bastide des Templiers is nestled right in the heart of what is called "Green Provence", the centre of the Var district. Many believe this region to be a piece of paradise, as it is a true hideaway from it all. In an ever-shrinking world, it still offers pristine, raw nature at its most beautiful: vast areas of untouched scenery, interrupted only occasionally by small villages embedded into pine and oak forests or perched like aeries on a hilltop. But its beauty comes also from a sublime Mediterranean countryside composed of endless vineyards, lavender fields and olive groves. Here, in the tranquil hinterland of the Riviera, away from congested beaches and the madding crowd, where the natives gear down and live with respect for their environment, you will be able to fully relax and unwind, and come into touch with the authentic Provence...
The village of Bras is located in the centre of a triangle formed by the towns of Saint-Maximin, Brignoles and Barjols, a 40 minutes drive from Aix-en-Provence, midway between the Verdon gorges and the chic French Riviera - the perfect base to tour Provence and visit a maximum of its famous attractions. At about 300 to 500 m height above sea level, the ancient Templar village and its environs is an Eldorado for nature lovers and ramblers and a great place for relaxing days in the great outdoors. Numerous hiking trails and paths take you to the surrounding woods and meadows and to little ponds and creeks.
An exceptional and healthy climate both meridional and alpine, about 300 sunny days a year, pleasantly cool nights offering a quiet and sound sleep (without the need of air conditioning), splendid landscapes and vast vistas of unspoiled countryside, unique light and scents, picturesque Provencal villages and history-charged medieval vestiges, Mediterranean lifestyle and a load of spots of grandiose art and culture – all that and much more is waiting for you here...
