The climate is amazing - hot and sunny in summer, with the most beautiful autumns as well! There is so much to do. We've been going there for years now and still find something new to do each time. The Futuroscope is about an hour away, plus lakes and river beaches, horse riding, chateaux to visit, wine tasting delicious Haut Poitou wines, and spending time in the beautiful medieval city of Montmorillon. But actually what we really enjoy is lazing in the garden with a bottle of vino, after a delicious lunch, reading our books or playing a game. The house is stocked with board games and outdoor games as well as a put up pool. The garden is enormous with cool shady areas under 2 ancient cherry trees or hot and sunny spots - take your pick!
Brigueil Le Chantre is at the top of a small hill, with the river Asse running below. The area is richly wooded which makes for beautiful walks, especially in autumn. There are lots of lakes and rivers with water activities, including slides, pedalos, kayaking etc. There is so much to do and see in the area. Many of the lovely towns have markets, and we particularly enjoy the one at Chauvigny, about 30 minutes away, where they also have a spectacular display of hawks, falcons, owls etc. Nearby St Savin is a world heritage site with its beautiful abbey. In summer the area is full of events, like the music festival in Montmorillon, with lots of bars featuring the local talent!
