Etang des Faures is a pretty, quiet hamlet with a fishing lake, surrounded by sunflower fields. A bakery and bar/restaurant are just 1.5km away in the nearby village of Gout Rossignol. The busy market town of Mareuil (7km) offers essential services such as butchers, banks, chemist, doctors, restaurants, post office, supermarket, etc. A visit to Riberac (20km) and its well known Friday morning market is recommended, and from there, the lovely Jemaye Lake is only a further 10 mins. drive. With its supervised sandy beach and well-kept play areas, it is a paradise for children. Trips to beautiful Brantome ('the Venice of the Perigord') and the medieval town of Perigueux with its well documented Roman origins are a must.

Other Activities: canoeing (Bourdeilles, Brantome, Riberac)
