Book your 2015 holiday before Dec 1st and pay 2014 prices!! NEWLY CONVERTED GITE. Light and spacious yet retaining its original features from 1771. Situated on the edge of the Quencan Forest with beautiful lakes, it is an ideal location for those who like walking, cycling and participating in water activities. Lac de Guerledan (The largest man made lake in Brittany) It is only 15 minutes away and in 2015 it is being drained for the first time in 30 years exposing the village beneath the water including a church. This brings millions of tourists to the area as it is such a historic event and not to be missed!! However this only around the site of the lake so not to deter those who require a quiet and relaxing holiday. There is also the Merlin Lake 15 minutes away which has a beach, water activities, a restaurant, bar and shady benches under the trees to picnic. There are several local places to go fishing and there are many Golf courses dotted around. The nearest being 25km away. Beautiful North and South Brittany beaches are approximately an hours drive away and it is a beautiful drive to all.

The local village is just 2km away which hosts bars, banks, hotel, creperie, supermarket, Post office, butchers, bakers, G.Ps, Dentist and even a vets. It is the venue for many Breton events which are enjoyed by all those who attend.. Pontivy, a typical French historic town with a chateau and cobbled streets is only 14km away. With restaurants for all tastes and budgets, bars and pretty shops it is an ideal way to spend the day.Through this town runs a beautiful canal. For those more energetic there is a large swimming pool and bowling area. There is also a soft play area for younger guests. There is a market there every Monday and during July and August there are also markets and music at Mur De Bretagne and at the Abbaye de Bonne Repos. The latter hosts the Son et Luminere, a superb summer evening event with music and lights using the Abbaye ruins as a backdrop. I have experienced this and it is absolutely spectacular. For Art lovers there is the Annual Art dans les Chapelles (end of June until mid September) where contemporary art is displayed in chapels throughout the countryside.Being Central Brittany you are never more than approximately an hour away from North or South Brittany coast. The choice is yours as there are sandy beaches to rugged coastlines.

The gite is pet friendly (within reason) and the garden is secured for their safety. It is also child friendly. There is also a babysitting and pet sitting service if required.

There is one double room upstairs and a double sofa bed downstairs. There is also a travel cot and an additional single bed if required. Heating is electric and there is also a woodburner if needed. The kitchen is all new with many accessories unused. In the living room there is English TV, DVD/ Blu ray and CD player/radio. There is also wifi. The dining area seats 6 and throughout the gite it has been decorated to a high standard. A utility room and covered area for drying laundry means you can keep your packing to a minimum. The garden is not shared with other guests (only myself but rarely used). With pretty views and birdsong , there is also a covered patio area which has its own barbeque, it is the ideal place to have lunch a la Fresco! There is also garden furniture on the lawn. The neighbours are French and very friendly so a break at Le Guern will be sampling the true ways of Brittany life. To get you in the mood, on arrival there is a Welcome Pack with the choice of red or white wine! Le Guern is the perfect place for a much deserved relaxing holiday. As from 2015 there will also be additional accommodation on site but this is still in progress. The prices for 2015 are based on the popularity of tourists visiting for the draining of Lac De Guerledan but IF YOU BOOK PRIOR TO DECEMBER 1ST, 2014 PRICES WILL APPLY!! Re Review; THE PUPPY IS NOW IN A SEPERATE LARGE GARDEN!! I had literally just fostered him the week prior to my guests staying and was not expecting to take him home so soon!! He is a quiet dog and will have absolutely no impact on the quality of your stay.
