La Métairie Holiday Home was renovated by its current owners during the last few months of 2013. It is now laid out as a comfortable 3 bedroom Holiday home, with large garden and fantastic pool area.
It is set in the picturesque countryside of the Vendee in France and is surrounded by fields of sunflowers and corn in the summer months. An ideal location for country-lovers - with many quiet country lanes for walking and cycling along.
The house would be suitable for guests with limited mobility, as there is a twin bedroom on the ground floor, as is the shower room and WC. The main bedroom - complete with four-poster double bed - is on the first floor, and the third bedroom leads off from this room and has a double and single bed.
The pool is set in a renovated courtyard area, surrounded by stone walls and a great place to relax and sunbathe. There is even a sheltered area for reading or sipping a glass of the local wine. The heated pool is 9m x 4.5m and is securely walled off for the security of your children.
Owners live on-site and offer a meal service, preparing local specialities such as Moules & Frite or Vendeen Ham & Mogettes (white beans). This can be pre-booked at 20€ for adults and 12€ for children.
The house is set at the end of a quiet cul de sac, with no passing traffic and there is covered parking for 2 cars, plus secure storage for bikes.

The Vendee area is well-known for its miles of sandy beaches and fields of sunflowers. It is the second sunniest region of France after the South coast with over 2000 hours of sunshine each year!
There are many lovely beaches to visit - some for surfing & bodyboarding, others with rock pools to explore, and lots for just relaxing and making sand castles. Many have life guards on duty over the summer months.
The seaside towns of La Tranche sur Mer and Les Sables d'Olonne have lots of Entertainment laid on - with music festivals, food fayres, firework displays and sailing events throughout the year.
Further inland there is the Marais Poitevin area, with its miles of canals and navigable waterways, where you can punt past ruined abbeys and wetland areas teeming with wildlife.
The Puy du Fou Theme Park is only 30 minutes away, and this is a great day out for all of the family! You will see Vikings, Gladiators, Musketeers and Medieval Knights, as well as the best Bird of Prey show! All topped off with an amazing evening show complete with over a 1000 actors and a firework display.
There are many other tourist attractions in the area for all ages - such as the Indian Forest Adventure Park, The Tropical Gardens at St Cyr and the karting track at Angles.
La Métairie Holiday Home is set in the small Hamlet of La Jousselinière, only a short drive from the town of Sainte Hermine which has many shops, bakeries, restaurants, market, and summer Entertainment.
Many of the nearby villages have their own restaurants and bars - some with great views over the Lake at Mervent or in the medieval cité of Vouvant.
The area is great for cycling and walking, and has many country lanes nearby to explore. You can even buy a day-pass to fish in some of the local lakes.
The towns by the coast all have great restaurants serving freshly caught seafood and fish.
