Cashel faces west with a magnificent view across Lough Swilly to the hills of Donegal and spectacular sunsets year round. The house is at the edge of the secluded Porthaw Glen, where an ancient woodland of oak and birch trees lines the valley, and is close enough to the beach to hear the tide lapping the shore.

Buncrana is a 30min walk away via a costal path or a short drive over the hill behind Porthaw. The historic city of Derry is just 14 miles away and the wonderful scenery and drives of Inishowen, west Donegal and the Giants Causeway are all nearby and there is a ferry across the Swilly from Buncrana in the summer.

Amenities in the area include gentle coastal walks and more challenging hill walking, golf, there are two courses in Buncrana alone, fishing off the rocks or, by arrangement, on the Crana river, swimming on the doorstep, at numerous other beaches or in Buncrana's swimming pool.
