Devon is a fantastic place to holiday with traditional seaside towns and stunning beaches as well as the moors and fabulous countryside as seen in the film War Horse. The north coast has cliffs and rocks punctuated by beautiful coves and beaches- some bust and so so secluded that you can end up with them to yourself.
Ilfracombe is a classic seaside resort that is undergoing a revival, especially around the harbour area where Damian Hirst's Verity stands guard at the entrance. Love it or hate it you can't deny that it is a landmark and a must see. Damian's restaurant on the quay is leading the charge in the food revival with several really good little places working with local ingredients as well as a big range of cafes and pubs
