VIEWS TO WOW YOU! Our luxurious villa overlooks the picturesque Vallée d'Automne and the views are truly wonderful. Because of the rural nature of our situation it is not unusual to spot deer and wild boar in the fields around the villa.

This modern detached villa is south-facing with stunning views across the valley and countryside beyond. It is situated at the side of the owner's property and all the accommodation is on one level. You can step straight out of the spacious open-plan living/dining room onto the terrace surrounding the pool. The villa has an excellent and well-equipped kitchen, 1 double and 1 twin-bedded room. A lovely, large, modern shower room and useful storeroom complete the accommodation which is of the highest standard. Ample private parking.

Guests have EXCLUSIVE use of the pool. The south facing terraced area surrounding it is a real sun-trap, whilst meals outdoors, cooked on the BBQ, can be taken in the shade of the veranda.

There is plenty to do and see in the surrounding area for those who wish to explore, alternatively just sip an aperitif by the pool, and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this delightful rural location.

The gite is fully insulated and double glazed with underfloor heating in each room and has individual room controls. All windows are fitted with electric blinds that ensure that temperatures inside are comfortable even in the hottest weather. The Aquitaine region

This part of Lot et Garonne is famous for its many culinary delights, des Prunes d'Agen, Foie Gras, Truffles and Armanagac as well as all the other famous dishes that France has to offer. We have a Michelin star restaurant at nearby Pujols, a quaint hill-top village overlooking Villeneuve-sur-Lot, so if you really appreciate good food its the place to go. But there are also other Michelin star restaurants within 15 - 25 minute drives, as well of course as a wonderful selection of other restaurants. One of the lovely things about this part of France and dining out is that you can dress however you want - formal or casual.

As well as local wine producers where you can purchase excellent wines at a fraction of UK prices, the vineyards of Bordeaux and the picturesque and world-famous town of St. Emilion are only about an hour's drive away. Within a 10 minute drive from Les Tournesols there are three domaines that sell wine and the quality is excellent. There is also a local farm that produces some note worthy cheeses and many, many places where you can buy prunes - au nature, in alcohol, cream filled, chocolate coated - they are a real treat.

A little further afield - around one and a half hours drive is the lovely bay of Arcachon with its wealth of fish restaurants, and picturesque marina and lovely beach. If you visit Arcachon you absolutely must visit Le Dune de Pyla - its the biggest natural sand dune in Europe. When you climb to the top (and there are steps if you want to use them) you are at the same height as the tree tops - its a wonderful experience.

Situated within 10 kms of the small town of Villeneuve sur Lot, a medieval bastide town with magnificent central square, where you can sit and relax outside one of the many restaurants and cafes. There is an organic market every Wednesday morning and traditional markets on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Ste Livrade, a smaller town just 4 kms away has all the shops you need and a wonderful French market each Friday.

In July and August there are many evening markets where there are facilities for eating and usually a band or group playing. These are the places to soak up the real atmosphere of France, great food, free entertainment and a friendly ambiance. These are really relaxed evenings with tables and chairs provided. You can either take your own food or buy a selection of food from market stalls including stalls that will sell meat and then cook it for you. There is absolutely no charge for visiting these markets, using the tables and enjoying the music if you prefer to take your own food.

If you are seeking an active holiday there are a wealth of things to do locally: watersports including canoes, pedaloes and motorboats for hire, horse-riding, caves, chateaux to visit, a flying school for micro-lites, golfing, plus museums a plenty. For children there is a wonderful angora goat farm to visit where the children can actually take part in bottle-feeding and milking the goats, and many other child orientated activities in the area.
