The Tuscany region

Tuscany is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. This splendid region offers all you could desire – the natural beauty of the sea, great food and wine, art cities and culture, to name but a few. Of course the most famous art city in Tuscany is Florence but there are many others, such as Pisa, Lucca, Siena, which can all be visited in a day. Tuscany borders with the Region of Liguria which also has wonderful places to see.

Marina di Massa

Marina di Massa is a pretty seaside town which is both an excellent place to stay in as well as being the perfect starting point if you want to visit the surrounding area. Everything you need is close at hand and don't forget to enjoy a stroll around the outdoor market in Marina di Massa itself (Friday mornings).

Just along the coast are picturesque towns such as Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta, Lido di Camaiore and Viareggio. You can also visit Carrara, the world marble capital with its breathtaking marble quarries. Nearby, in the opposite direction is the region of Liguria where you can visit towns such as Lerici and the famous Cinque Terre. There is so much to see and do – it's up to you to decide. This area certainly offers the perfect combination of relaxation and sightseeing – you'll be spoilt for choice!
