Our spacious apartment with swimming pool is located in the delightful and peaceful wine-making village of La Redorte, perfectly located for exploring the Languedoc Roussillon region with its beautiful villages and Cathar castles. The village, which is typically French, has all amenities, including supermarket, butcher, boulangerie, tabac, post office, pharmacy, hairdressers, beauty salon and bank. There are also two bars and restaurants.
The apartment is located in a beautiful converted 17th Century winery called La Batisse. It offers:
- One master bedroom with queen size bed
- Second bedroom on sunny mezzanine floor with two single beds
- Bathroom with bath and separate shower, hairdryer
- 2 toilets separate from bathroom
- Fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and hob
- Separate utility cupboard containing the washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board
- Spacious living area with two large sofas, flat screen TV with digital free to air channels and dvd player

The apartment is not suitable for people with mobility problems. There are open stairs which could be a problem for young children.
- One set of bed linen is provided for each person. If you would like fresh bed linen during your stay and don't wish to launder it yourself, a second set can be provided at a cost of £10 per person.
- Beach towels are not provided but can be supplied at a cost of £5 per person per week.

The Languedoc Roussillon boasts over 300 days of sunshine every year and generally has a summer lasting well into October, rivalling its more well known and busier neighbour - Provence. Welcome to the "real" South of France, closer to Barcelona than Paris!
The region delivers mountains and the Mediterranean, canals, mountain fed streams to swim in, woods and vineyards. There are ancient villages and busy cities, Roman ruins and Cathar castles.
The village, like so many in the region, exists for the wine industry and Minervois wines are much acclaimed worldwide. There is never a problem in finding a local wine to sample with the abundant choice of local gastronomic delights.
The world famous medieval city of Carcassone is about 24 kilometres away and the stunning Cathar village of Minerve is even closer.
Narbonne with its fabulous street market and historic covered market, is just 30 minute away and from there it is possible to take the fast train to Barcelona (3hours), Paris (4.5hours), Montpellier (1hour), Avignon (1.45hrs)
The international airports of Toulouse, Perpignan and Montpellier are within 1.5hours and the smaller airports (catering for budget airlines RyanAir and Easyjet) of Carcassone and Beziers are within 30 and 40minutes respectively.
Skiing in the Pyrennees within 2hours, swimming in the mediterranean within 40 minutes.
The typically French village of La Redorte is surrounded by vineyards and steeped in history. It offers you peaceful days walking or cycling along the canal if you don't want to spend every day sightseeing further afield.
Throughout summer La Redorte and neighbouring villages offer many different festivities, concerts, jazz festivals, movies, circus, fireworks, long table dinners alongside the canal. Holiday-makers are welcome to join the locals in all of these events.
The UNESCO world heritage site of Canal du Midi runs through the village. There are many lovely areas to explore on foot or by bike and you will find yourself walking amongst poppies, sunflowers and vines, depending on the season.
A leisurely walk/cycle along the canal to Homps will reward you with a choice of several restaurants, or just take a book and relax by the canal with a glass of wine. The next stop along the canal will take you to Olonzac with its popular weekly market (Tuesday morning) where you can relax with a coffee after browsing the assorted market stalls cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, clothes, pottery, bric-a-brac. There are lots of markets to choose from during the week in neighbouring villages.
Nearby is Lake Jouarres which provides safe swimming, fishing and sailing. Mediterranean beaches are within 40minutes.
