The mountains, the sea, the domaines, the towns and villages; there is just so much to do here whether your interests lie in wine-tasting, great food, looking for property to make your own piece of paradise or just unwinding by exploring the great outdoors.

Visitors can explore the great outdoors: canoeing and kayaking in the rivers Orb and the Cesse are very popular. The Gorge d'Héric offers fabulous mountain walks of all grades and guided climbing and abseiling tours are available. Canoes, wind-sailing and other activities are to be found at the Lac du Salagou Base de Plein Air.

Béziers, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Montpellier, Sète and even Spain are within easy driving distances.

Pezenas

Close to Pézenas is Puissalicon, a medieval circulade village with its own château. It lies in the heart of the sunny wine producing region of the Languedoc and boasts three domaines so wine tasting and tours of the vineyards are high on the list. There is a boulangerie, epicerie, post office, doctor and a bar all within less than five minutes walking distance. A good range of restaurants and bars are within easy reach.

Pézenas is a cultural centre of the area and just half an hour away by car. It is worth a visit to this charming town with its old historical centre, fascinating architecture and many restaurants. Pézenas also boasts a theatre and cinema. A market is held all day every Saturday but the town is also known for its Brocantes – a fun way to browse for antiques and objets d'art.
