Puglia has something for everyone ..... For beach lovers there are miles of unspoilt coastline, from rocky coves for snorkelling to long stretches of white sand with crystalline water.
Foodies will enjoy the freshest fish and seafood, vegetables bursting with colour and flavour, local cheeses, fresh pasta and baked products and the incomparable local olive oil and excellent wine.
Natural beauty abounds, whether you are driving, walking or cycling through a landscape dotted with olive and fruit trees, divided by dry stone walls or admiring a crystalline turquoise sea from a cliff top vantage point, a a boat or a white sand beach. There are architectural gems as well, from the perfect, simple medieval chapel to the full blown Baroque cathedral.
The climate is temperate, lots of sunshine but usually with a breeze from the sea so that the heat is seldom oppressive.
“ We are in the area south of Bari, one of the most beautiful areas in Puglia, with a rich cultural heritage and traditions and beautiful sea and beaches. In the area you can visit the trulli of Alberobello, the grottoes of Castellana, the historic centre of Polignano with its breathtaking sea views from the 'balconies', medieval Polignano, Monopoli with its fishing boats and Baroque cathedral, Cisternino, the 'White City' Ostuni, Zoo Safari at Fasano, Grottaglie which is famous for its pottery and the stones of Matera amongst others. Not forgetting the sea, the best choice of beaches is in the Capitolo area (part of Monopoli) which has a huge selection of beaches, from rocky coves to long sand beaches both private beaches with facilities and free beaches. Many of the private beaches turn into bars and nightclubs after dark, providing a very lively nightlife in the summer months
