Some recent reviews:-

"So good we're going back!"

The perfect base for a relaxing family holiday, with stunning views over beautiful vineyards. As soon as we arrived, the natural surroundings took our breath away and we relaxed immediately. The Gite was accurately described, spotlessly clean, well-designed and homely, with everything you could need. The owners were lovely - friendly and helpful, but respectful of our privacy throughout the holiday. The location was ideal and we often popped out for a short drive to a local town or market in the morning, canoeing or sightseeing, then spent a lazy afternoon by the pool, reading books before lighting the BBQ! One of our most memorable days out was to Saint Emilion, wandering around the cobbled streets and sitting in a café eating Galettes, whilst watching the world go by. Another favourite was our visit to Chateau de Claribes, a local organic vineyard, where we had a tour and a wine-tasting (even though it was raining that day, it didn't spoil our enjoyment). We had a wonderful, memorable family holiday, made new friends and can't wait to return next year - see you soon Lizzie!

"Great Gite"

We stayed at the Tuillerie for a week in July / August. We had a very friendly welcome from the owners, who conveniently live next door and are on hand to provide local knowledge without being intrusive. The welcome pack was perfect to make a great start to your break. The accommodation is well appointed and beds very comfortable. The kitchen is excellently equipped and has a range of modern white goods. The views and surrounding area to the Gite are just what you'd expect from the Dordgne - vineyards, corn and sunflower fields. The occasional deer even strolled through the gardens. The nearest Boulangerie is about 5-10 mins drive away, and Gensac for great food and WINE not much further. I would highly recommend this delightful Gite which is well maintained by friendly and suportive owners.

The Aquitaine region

South west France, enjoys long hot summers and mild short winters. Steeped in history the area was a battle ground between French and English kings. The legacy being hundreds of Bastides towns (fortified) and Chateaux's (castles). The countryside is beautiful rolling hills, vineyards, orchards and numerous villages to explore.

Castillion la Bataille is only 15mins away, this being the last decisive battle of the hundred years war and

the world heritage site of Saint Emilion, an incredible open air museum only 25mins away is a stunning ochre coloured stone built town full of narrow streets, beautiful architecture, views and restaurants and is the world famous wine production area, so lots of tasting to try.

Bordeaux's cosmopolitan city atmosphere is 1 hour away, with good park and ride links.

Coubeyrac

La Tuilerie is in the area of Coubeyrac which is situated between the villages of Gensac and Pellegrue both being a short 4km away. They both offer a choice of shops: bakery, a well stocked 'Spar' shop in Gensac and an Eco Marche in Pellegrue, bank with cash dispenser, post office, chemist, Cafe bar, tourist information office. we have two very good restaurants close by. one being Chateau de Sanse (www.chateaudesanse.com) . Sainte Foy la Grande, is the nearest large town a 20min drive, on the Dordogne river and has several supermarkets and there are regular traditional markets throughout the region.
