Torre the Brancialino nestles beautifully in the Tuscan Hills some 10 kilometres from the Renaissance town of Sansepolcro.
Being part of a remarkably restored medieval castle (where the owner lives) the tower offers the perfect romantic hideaway with comfortable accommodation for two people yet it is within easy access of all amenities. It is a place for calm and relaxation where you can spend the day by the pool soaking up both the sun and the spectacular views of the surrounding hills as well as Lago di Montedoglio. If weary from sightseeing returning to your very own medieval tower will soon restore both body and spirit.
The tower offers the best of both worlds for those with a passion for Italy and an appreciation of a unique environment and features the following amenities:
Ground floor kitchen/dining room comprises fully equipped kitchen with hob, cooker, fridge and dishwasher. Torre di Brancialino and Sansepolcro are situated in the Valtiberina, the upper reaches of the Tiber Valley, an ideal position from which to explore much of Tuscany such as the famous cities and towns of Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Arezzo as well as Montepulciano and Montalcino for world renowned wines. The entire area offers a wealth of art, culture and music as well as outstanding wines and cuisine.
Torre di Brancialino is only 10 to 15 minutes' drive from the renaissance town of Sansepolcro birthplace of the famous artist Pierro della Francesca. Sansepolcro is a walled city of some 16,000 inhabitants full of vibrant local life and an abundance of superb restaurants and bars. This area is often referred to as the “Food Corner” of Tuscany and local food and wines are readily available either in the twice weekly market, Tuesday and Saturday, or in one of the many small shops or several supermarkets.
The Sansepolcro civic museum displays several of Pierro's works and more can be found in neighbouring towns such as Monterchi and, on a larger scale, in Arezzo.
Sansepolcro also hosts the annual cross bow completion against Gubbio every second Sunday in September which entails a run up of about ten days of festivities.
Several of the neighbouring towns such as Anghiari, Monterchi and Citerna also have various festivals and events during the summer such as weeklong outdoor music festivals and medieval displays.
