The Dordogne is well known for the beautiful bastide and medieval towns and villages with wonderful markets during the day and, in July and August, the night markets, where you can buy locally produced produce, cooked for you there and then. Buy a bottle of wine, choose a table, and enjoy the live music whilst making new friends, these events are extremely popular with both the local french people and the tourists making for a lively, entertaining evening. As you are on the doorstep of the Lot et Garonne too which has the same facilites, you will be spoilt for choice so why not try a different night market every evening!
Ste Sabine Born is a typical small Dordogne village with a Boulangerie that also sells basic items. There are three restaurants, one of which boasts one Michelin star. There is also a Pizzeria where you can eat in with traditional local food and pizza or, if you want to relax by the pool without bothering to barbeque, take a pizza home with you. The third restaurant is the local bar/restaurant where they serve very good local and international dishes, they also have a pool (unheated) so if the grown ups want a relaxing lunch and the kids want to swim you can all be catered for. The nearest supermarket is the Intermarche in Villereal, just a five minute drive away, and also sells the cheapest petrol in the area.
