The kitchen and utility room are well stocked with washing machine, cooker & hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is a considerable outside terrace with unrivaled views across the Mediterranean, complete with patio furniture and a gas bbq. Private wifi is available in the apartment as well as a communal wi fi which can be accessed from the grounds and around the pool.
This is the ideal place to stay for all ages, great for a family holiday, a golfing break, a quiet retreat or a base from which to explore southern Spain.
The huge swimming pool is open from April to September/October (the specific dates are dependent on the weather) and benefits from a life guard. The pool is unusual in that it boasts plenty of shallow areas, great for smaller children and also a deeper area in the middle. Loungers are provided in the grassy area surrounding the pool.
The beach can be accessed through a private gate and is typically quieter than other beaches in the area. There are two charming chiringuitos on the beach which serve food and drinks all day in the summer season. Castillo, the Spanish fishing village next door is just a few minutes walk and boasts some amazing fish restaurants which are enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.
Duquesa Golf Club is situated to the rear of the complex with tennis courts, an indoor pool, spa and club house also accessible.
There are a large variety of restaurants, supermarkets and shops within a short walk. Castillo has a Castle to explore, a play park & basketball court. A path has now been developed allowing walking, cycling (or jogging!) several kilometres to the south and through Duquesa and Sabinillas to Casares beach

Duquesa is at the quieter western end of the Costa del Sol; just a few kilometres from Estepona - a bustling seaside resort with long sandy beaches and a pleasant Marina. This part of the coast is much more peaceful and less busy; and as such is perfect for families or those wanting a more tranquil break. There is plenty to see and do from the Museo Picasso in Malaga - with 285 Picasso pieces to the breathtaking town of Ronda, spectacularly perched on the top of a gorge. Seville is a firm favourite of ours - visit the beautiful cathedral; and take a climb up the historic Giralda tower. Jerez, just an hours drive away is known as the capital of Sherry; and is the home of The Royal Andalusian school of Equestrian Art. The countryside is beautiful and stays green through much of the year.
There is plenty to see and do locally. Puerto de la Duquesa is a cosmopolitan pedestrian only marina; there are plenty of cafes restaurants and bars featuring international cuisine. In the high season after dark there is a popular street market. In the summer, some of the best local food can be found in the many beach bars (chiuringuitos) which are scattered at regular intervals along the coast. These are ideal for families or those wanting to be more informal. They serve food throughout the day. If you like Paella then pay a visit to Castillo, the traditional Spanish village next to Duquesa where there are several high class fish restaurants.
For families there are two water parks within 40 minutes drive at Algeciras & Torremelionos; water sports & sailing in Sotogrande and several tennis & padel clubs. Boats are available to hire from Estepona and also Gibraltar which in itself is often popular with tourists. Dolphin boats go from Tarifa and Gibraltar; Tarifa is perfect most of the time for Kite surfing and wind surfing.
For golfers there are over 30 golf courses within a 40 minute drive. Some of the most famous include Sotogrande, Valderrama (which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup); Finca Cortesin (which hosted the Volvo World Matchplay Championship).
