This Excellent 5 Star Reviewed let is a privately owned and exclusive apartment near Gibraltar's popular Eastern Beach, which offers the perfect Gibraltar holiday experience. In the summer it is very airy, so fairly cool and in the winter months, electric radiators are provided. The apartment boasts two double bedrooms, both with large wardrobes, drawers and air fans. A single metal fold-up bed is provided for a 5th person and a cot and high chair are available for a baby. The bathroom has bath, shower, washbasin and WC, with bath towels. There is also a separate cloakroom, with WC and washbasin. The apartment has a shared patio and clothes drying area with 4 other apartments' entrances, where you can smoke, and enjoy the excellent views of the Straight of Gibraltar, runway and Spain. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, ceramic hob, extractor, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. Ample cookware, crockery, cutlery and glasses are provided, along with washing up liquid and tea towels. There is a utility cupboard with washing machine, clothes airer. ironing board, steam iron & good hair dryer. The lounge has a beautiful large leather settee and widescreen HD TV, offering a full range of British and international satellite channels (including Sky). There is a DVD player, with 36 good DVD's in the bookcase, and free broadband Wi-Fi and an incoming calls only telephone. The 2nd bedroom has a widescreen TV and Playstation 3 with plenty of games. The dining area has an extendable glass dining table and 5 chairs.
The apartment is furnished and decorated to high standard throughout and within walking distance of the airport and is very close to The Rock! The beautiful Mediterranean Sea can be seen panoramically from the large opening windows. Main Street and Casemates Main Square is just a 10 minute walk away and popular Eastern Beach is on the doorstep. There is a handy local supermarket directly opposite the road and an Eroski supermarket, featuring Waitrose produce, on the other side of the runway. Please note that beach towels are not provided and it is requested that bath towels are kept in the apartment.
There is a bus stop right outside the apartment building and the inexpensive Route 4 local bus service has the longest route in Gibraltar. It goes from 'Both World's' in the far South East, to 'Rosia Bay' in the far South West. The bus stops conveniently at key places, with no fewer that 28 stops on it's way! The Route 8 bus also runs to St. Bernards's Hospital opposite Morrisons supermarket and stops at Market Place Bus Main Terminus near Casemates Square. Unlimited travel day pass is £2.25 per adult, £1.80 per child and £1.20 for the over 60's.

The Rock of Gibraltar is world famous for the apes (Macaques) and you can meet them by tour company, taxi, cable car or walking. Other attractions are St Michael's Cave, The WW2 Tunnels, The Great Siege Tunnels, Trafalgar Cemetery, 100 Ton Gun and The Moorish Castle. Don't miss the fantastic Dolphin Trips to enjoy. Why not get on an inexpensive local bus and go to Europa Point and see The Mosque, with great views of North Africa just 14 miles away. Gibraltar offers excellent walking holidays, with the superb Nature Reserve on The Rock which has so many interesting walkways, with wonderful bird watching and truly stunning views. Gibraltar is a popular wedding destination, where you can follow in the footsteps of John Lennon & Yoko Ono, who married here in 1969 and Sean Connery twice, in 1962 and 1975.
Go Duty-Free shopping in Main Street, or have an Al-Fresco meal in Casemates Square or in Ocean Village. For kids, there is Burger King and Pizza Hut in Casemates and McDonalds close to Morrisons supermarket a 10 minute walk away. Explore the Catholic and Anglican Cathedrals and The Garrison Library. Visit the beautiful Alameda Botanical Gardens.There are trips to Morocco available at any of the local travel agents. Gibraltar has many sandy beaches and the summer weather is usually great. Kings Bastion Leisure Centre, in Line Wall Road near Main Street, offers 2 Cinema's with 4 of the latest films daily, an inexpensive Ice Rink with skate hire, a 14 lane Bowling Alley, Fitness Gym, Amusements and Entertainment, as well as good food, well worth a visit, especially if you have children. It is open every day from 9am to midnight.
(GBP) UK Pounds Sterling notes and coins are accepted everywhere and are par with Gibraltar Pounds (GIP). Don't be surprised if you get a mix of both currencies in your change. You don't need Euros in Gibraltar in fact you are charged extra for the conversion to Pounds! You will need Euros if you go to Spain of course and there are plenty of Currency Exchange shops in Main Street with no commission charges and the rates are good. Currently there are possible long delays at the Gibraltar Spanish border, but still worth the wait, as the fabulous Costa Del Sol is just up the coast. Gibraltar time is always 1 hour ahead of UK time.
Eastern Beach is just 5 minutes walk from the apartment, with the largest sandy beach in Gibraltar and popular with the friendly local people, especially after 3pm in 'summer hours' early closing! There are competent lifeguards and first aid attendants on duty, with excellent changing and shower facilities in the summer months.
The restaurant: 'Latino's on the Beach' has Tapas, Specials Board and an A La Carte menu. You can hire inexpensive sunbeds under rafia umbrellas with tables on the beach there and they have a children's playground. Latino's do great beach parties and barbeques, well into the barmy summer nights.
Ice cream and cold drinks are available elsewhere along this sandy and well kept beach, ideal for sunseekers The Mediterranean Sea is clean and warm, perfect and safe for swimming.
