The lovely villages of Beynac, La Roque Gageac, and Limieul have the Dordogne running through the villages and you can hire canoes or go for a sail along the river on a Gabarre. Sarlat, a beautiful large town is a 30 minute drive with plenty of shops, restaurants, beautiful buildings and a very popular market on Saturday.

The Dordogne is a beautiful area in the south west of France with plenty of interesting places to visit in the vicinity of Le Pigeonier". The river Dordogne passes through most of the pretty villages. The weather is an attraction and there are plenty of markets, festivals and lovely hilltop villages, usually with an ancient chateau to visit.
The Area of Siorac En Perigord is close by to the most beautiful villages of the Dordogne, medieval Belves, St Cyprien, Beynac
La Roque Gageac, Sarlat and many others. There are 2 golf courses nearby, one with 9 and the other with 18 holes - both have a bar and restaurant. You can always find a quiet safe road for cycling, walking and there areplenty of picnic areas, many alongside a stream or river. Shopping isn't a problem as there are 2 large Carrefour supermarkets, small shops, bars and restaurants between a 5 and 10 minutes drive away.
