The Cartlodge at Higham has been very well restored to make a beautiful holiday home, retaining the original charm of the exposed beams and vaulted ceilings. This property has the best of both, light, bright and airy yet full of charm and atmosphere. Our guests have regularly told us this property has exceeded their expectations. 3 double bedrooms each with their own individual charm look out of 15 acres of private parkland. There is a modern farmhouse style kitchen/dining room with all the equipment you would expect of a luxury cottage. The siting room opens up on to patio, great for entertaining !

The River Stour is close by with scenes of rural landscapes made famous by the artist John Constable, Visit Willy Lotts cottage in Flatford and enjoy a walk along the river or even hire a boat and row up to Dedham. In Dedham you will find the Munnings Museum and plenty of gift shops and cafes.

The medieval towns of Lavenham and Kersey are about a 20 min drive away, Full of history and well worth a visit as is Long Melford with what has to be the largest antique shop around.

Visit Aldeburgh and Southwold for the real English seaside, equally the nature reserves at Dunwich and Minsmere are all within easy reach.


The Stour Valley is the perfect location for exploring Suffolk, Enjoy picturesque walks or cycling down attractive Suffolk country lanes. Bicycles are freely provided for your use during your stay.
