Avalon is an ideal base for touring the west coast of mainland Scotland as well as visiting the beautiful Inner Hebridean islands of Mull, Iona, Coll, Islay, Colonsay and Tiree and even further afield to the Outer Hebrides. Whether you enjoy walking, outdoor sports, visiting historical sites, castles and gardens or eating out, all activities and attractions can be reached within a short walk or drive from Avalon. The house comfortably accommodates ten guests, in five bedrooms with plenty of shower/ bathrooms. It is both child and pet friendly being conveniently located in a private cul-de-sac, away from passing cars. Avalon is fully equipped to modern standards with Wifi and Digital Freesat TV. There are no hidden extras with all gas, electricity, use of Wifi, linen and towels, included in the price. Outside of the main house there is a large parking area, mature garden with decked seating area and a games room, accessed by a metal staircase. Oban has much to offer with regular ferries to all the local islands, an 18 hole golf course, whisky distillery, riding stables, seal trips, diving centre, beautiful local walks including McCaig's Tower, a cinema, sports centre and an excellent range of restaurants many of which serve freshly caught seafood (Did you know that Oban is known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland?). The surrounding area also has many fantastic day trips whether it's dolphin and whale spotting, playing golf, walking, riding, sailing or just relaxing on the beautiful local sandy beaches.
Argyll is packed with wonderful sites including the Historic Kilmartin Glen and Museum, Crinan Canal, the Bridge over the Atlantic and the Isles of Seil and Easdale (home of the world stone skimming championships), Cruachan Power Station and Visitor Centre, Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary, numerous forest walks, cycle routes and picnic sites as well as some very stunning highland castle ruins.
The house is only a short drive away from pretty beaches, the nearest being at Ganavan which is only 1.5 miles away.
