There is an excellent selection of restaurants and bars within easy reach. Our recommendations, include Mrs Ali Indian Restaurant which is a contemporary Pan-Asian Restaurant in Jesmond. The Carriage is also another good place to eat and drink. Formerly the old Jesmond train station, the pub has retained many of its original features and after pre-dinner drinks you can make your way through to the train carriage 'Valley junction 397' which offers superb Indian cuisine.

The Ship Inn in Ouseburn is one of the first and oldest pubs in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle and dates back to the early 1800's. The Ship Inn serves a great selection of food and local ales. The Tyne Bar in Ouseburn is also a friendly pub right by the lock where the Ouseburn joins the Tyne, with a great selection of ales and food served daily.
