The island of Corfu is located just off the West coast of Greece. Corfu enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate along with excellent beaches making it a popular destination for holiday makers. Corfu is very green compared to other Greek islands: hot and dry summers along with winter rain creates lush vegetation which is dominated by over 2 million olive trees. These olive trees on Corfu are the main cultivation, although Corfu's tourism now provides the most income.
Gardenos is situated in the South of the island, on the West coast. It is an area that must be explored!!!
After the beautiful drive down the South side of Corfu, a road through the old village of Vitalades, leads into a luscious green valley, where you may see the sea twinkling in the Sun. The road goes straight to the sea front.
Gardenos beach is a quiet holiday-makers heaven. It is a hidden Gem that only locals know about. The beach is fantastic.. The water is as flat as a pancake, warm and crystal clear; bring along a snorkel and mask and you can go swimming around the tiny Harbour (hosting about 6 boats) and see a variety of amazing species of fish.
Gardenos is an old fishing village, and every morning and night you can sit out on your balcony, or take a walk down to the Harbour and watch the local fishermen bring in their catch.
There are sun beds and umbrellas for rent
