Brand new Holiday let from late Novemeber, this gorgeous, tranquil flat is in an ideal location, directly on Clapham Common and near Clapham Common tube. It is very easy to get to the main sightseeing areas of central London, before returning home and enjoying the numerous good bars, restaurants and cafes the area has to offer. The owner is a political advisor, travelling regularly to war zones and she has decorated her flat beautifully with many of her finds.
The flat is accessed from a private drive, and down a set of stairs, of a grand Victorian mansion block. There is a burglar alarm and two deadlocks for extra security. Once inside there is a small entrance area with a large storage area for all the cleaning equipment and a coat rack. The space opens out to a large living room/ dining room with wooden floors, modern chandeliers and beautiful furniture. Chinese sideboard, solid wood table, writing desk, three seater traditional sofa and two armchairs. There is a flat screen tv and virgin cable tv subscription.
The corridor leading off the living room leads to the traditional blue bathroom with shower/bath, sink and toilet. There is a shaving mirror and shaving plug and heated towel rail. Toiletries and towels are provided.
Further down the corridor is the compact kitchen. Be amazed at its efficient use of space, the owner has catered for dinner parties of ten people or more.
At the end of the corridor is the second bedroom. A pretty double room with a view of the garden. It has a lovely white wrought metal double bed, with a medium firm pocket sprung mattress. Silk blinds and lamp shades and a white chinese wardrobe.
The generous master bedroom is accessed from the living room and is a pure delight. A four poster double bed with romantic gauze drapes, dominates the room. The bed has a pocket sprung firm mattress, with the option of having a soft topper. Silk curtains and lampshades add luxury. Chinese cabinets and console add glamour. There is a large wardrobe and french doors leading straight on to the garden. There is also a tv on a silver console at the wall facing the bed. Duvets are hypo allergenic, with white Egyptian cotton covers. Towels are provided.
The garden is shaded most of the year as this property is part of a mansion block, but is pretty and lit with fairy lights and lanterns at night. There is a garden table and seating for four.
Resident parking tickets can be purchased for parking in the street at £5 a day. Parking on the street is free at weekends. It may also be possible to use the off street parking at the property, if there is a space, this is also free, but cannot be guaranteed as it is on a first come basis.
Home truths and rules- There is limited mobile phone telephone reception in the flat. There are a couple of areas in the flat where one can take calls, but its sometimes best to go in the garden. The steps down to the flat are moderately steep. Although the flat is on the common, it has an A road. However, the building is set back from the road, via a private drive and the bedrooms are at the back, so the flat is not disturbed by traffic noise. There may be some noise from neighbours as it is a flat, but its a genteel block, with well behaved neighbours and we ask that guests respect that. We also require that guests do not wear shoes in the flat.

What can one say about London? An international city, that offers everything.
Shopping at big exclusive stores like Harrods and Harvey Nichols, contrasted with flea markets, antique markets and farmers markets. Visit the many vintage clothes stores and specialist shops.
So many art galleries, the Tate Modern and photographers gallery being our favourites. Don't just visit them, go along to the many late night openings that offer entertainment too, or sign up for a day course or lecture. Alternatively pop along to one of the many private views of the small independent galleries and if you are here at the right time, the open studios.
A whole wealth of theatre options from musicals to Opera, to a night out at the Globe experiencing Shakespeare.
Surprisingly there are even a few open air music festivals in London, you don't HAVE to go to Glastonbury.
Restaurants, bars, nightlife, cinema.
Then theres all the attractions, Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London and the Crown Jewels, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament,
Beautiful common, a favourite for joggers and picnickers. Regular events are hosted on the common- funfairs, parades, a festival.
There are many good restaurants in the immediate locality, for example- Moroccan, French, Modern Indian, Tapas, Modern British.
Cafes full of fabulous cakes and really good macaroons from the patisserie on the pavement and a saturday farmers food market opposite the Clapham picture house, a good local cinema.
Its also a ten minute drive to Chelsea, making it easy to visit the Kings Road and go on to Harrods. Alternatively visit brixton foe a more culturally diverse scene.
