In the heart of Lunigiana, a few minutes from Sarzana and Fosdinovo, the old mill of the “bumpkins” was destroyed and taken over by blackberries, but changed into a fabled village, where your eyes are lost in a million shades of green, your ears suffer from the profound silence, you are enveloped by the smells of the seasons, and the gurgling of the creek cradles you.

This large apartment, which we call the loft was the old barn. It 'been completely renovated and consists of: a bedroom with 4 beds (double bunk bed) open to living room which has 2 sofa beds (double and single) and two futon

Complete the apartment a bathroom with shower and a kitchen that opens onto a large living terrace overlooking the stream.

We offer many activities to our guests.

It can accommodate up to 6 people

From here you can reach the beaches in about 20 km. (Bocca di Magra, Lerici and Le cinque terre)

n addition to the rent of the apartment, the borgo offers local cuisine , vegetarian and vegan menu, opportunity to participate in different activities.

The apartment is part of an ancient farmer house. The villa is an old mill whose origin is lost in time, in between two small mountain rivers that provided the mill with energy, with an old medieval, or maybe roman, bridge. We have lived here since 1977, moved from a city big enough to stress us out. Little by little over the years, we brought back to our new life the old structures, the gardens, the olives, the stone walls, etc… through a work that has no end... The farm is always organic and we produce olive oil, honey, vegetables and fruit, and in our kitchen, we prepare conserves, jams, marmalades, olives and peppers in oil, we grow herbs, and bottle our own limoncello and other liquors. We do not produce wine, but we but it from a farm close by, and it is organic and biodynamic; the same with local cheese and fresh milk from local cows. During the year, there are always a few people from all over the world to give us a hand, through WWOOF (WorldWide Opportunities on Organic Farming). a The villa is an old mill whose origin is lost in time, in between two small mountain rivers that provided the mill with energy, with an old medieval, or maybe roman, bridge. The Tuscany region

Between Liguria and Tuscany, sea and mountains, Lunigiana is an area of rare beauty and ancient civilisation. You can lose yourself among its narrow mountain lanes which suddenly open out over the sea, or you can use it as a base for visiting Lerici and Cinque Terre, Viareggio and the Forte dei Marmi, the caves of Carrara, the Apuan Alps and many others besides.

Pisa and Lucca are close by, Florence is a little further afield but easily reachable.

Fosdinovo

You can find us in a small valley named Colomba, called a long time ago “Bumpkin”, but the residents preferred to change the name, who knows why, maybe because “Bumpkin” meant “peasant”…

The villa is accessible by an ancient road that goes through the town of Giucano and Carignano (beautiful road), but that, many years ago and again, just after the second World War, served as a commercial road from Parma and the region Emilia, traversing the Appenines.

Every year, there is a hike with donkeys that goes from Emilia retracing the ancient road

For hikers, you can find us near Via Francigena and the trekking circuit of Lunigiana, on the partisan paths (there is a fantastic multimedia museum of the resistance in Italy, located in Canepari). There is a path maintained by the C.A.I (Italian Alpinist Club) for mountain-bike and hiking aficionados. For those who arrive in car, we are 7 km from Sarzana, on a road with many curves, but if you arrive once, it is very simple, 10 minutes.
