The Cornwall region

North Cornwall has magnificent scenery, relics of prehistoric civilisations, medieval churches, pretty fishing villages, all bounded by mighty granite cliffs hewn to shape by the Atlantic Ocean.

The scenery is wild and rugged. The climate is fresh and invigorating. High ground and clean, clear air give panoramic views over great distances of land and sea.

The area appeals to lovers of nature and the great outdoors. There are quiet leafy lanes and footpaths, vast expanses of open access moorland and, of course, the Coastal Path.

In fact, as an escape from the rush and bustle of everyday life, there is no better relaxation than a holiday amid the peace and beauty of North Cornwall.

Crackington Haven, just a few minutes away, is a small sheltered bay between high headlands. Plenty of rock pools to explore, a pub which serves good food and a beach shop.

Boscastle, 5 miles away. A quaint old fishing village with its unique picturesque landlocked harbour preserved by the National Trust. Also, worth a mention, is its witches museum.

Bude, 10 miles away, a typical seaside town with two large sandy beaches, many shops, caf├ęs, restaurants and banks.

Of note is the Bude Canal with its Sea Lock and the Bude Jazz Festival in late August.

Tintagel, 10 miles away, Famous for its links with King Arthur, has a ruined castle high on the cliffs, the Old Post Office, King Arthurs Hall and Merlins Cave.

The Eden Project, a bit further away, is so famous that it doesn't need describing.

Water Sports, the main centres are Widemouth Bay (8 miles) and Bude where you can find facilities for Surfing, Sea Canoes, Windsurfing and lots more.

Golf, our nearest course is Lanteglos nr. Camelford (10 miles). There are several other golf courses in the area.

Fishing, besides the limited game fishing in our river, there are many Course and Game fisheries around here.
