New on the market from this owner.
In a small hamlet tucked away up a charming valley, Les Estournels is a 4 bedroomed former farmhouse with generous sized rooms, including the huge baronial style converted barn-end which serves as the sitting room. A perfect spot from which to explore the local area, sample gastronomic delights, or simply relax by the private saltwater pool. Sleeping up to 8, it is perfect for families with children, with 2 acres of garden to run around in. Wonderful "petits chemins" from the house offer stunning walks - see if you can find the cave used by the Resistence to "cache" their arms supply - now a hidden bottle of wine awaits discovery!
Our friends & personal guests have included toddlers to 80yr olds - but please note that there are steps everywhere, so this would not be suitable for anyone with limited mobility. One of the rooms, the "Bread Oven", is separate from the house - teenagers love it with the freedom to sleep-in late! The TV receives the free UK channels (BBC ITV etc), but not yet French TV.
There are plenty of medieval and musical festivals over the summer for outside entertainment. Or enjoy the variety of old fashioned board games provided at the house. Or simply sit on the terrace and listen to the nightjar under the brightest night sky, spotting shooting stars.

For those pursuing a more leisurely route, there are ancient caves to explore, museums, art galleries in abundance, and gastronomic delights galore. From choosing your own truffles from the many markets such as Gourdon, Sarlat, Souillac, to being served Michelin rated meals at Chateau de la Treyne or the restaurant Le Pont d'Ouysse - all is available within a short distance.
There are seasonal festivals all around - the details of which are cheerfully provided by the little tourist office in Payrac. They range from Jazz, to opera, to medieval jousting & hawking, and more - catering for all taste.
