The nearest beach with beautiful sandy coves is close to the Alexander the Great Hotel. Here you can swim safely and take part in water sports. It also has it's own beach bar. From here, you can stroll along the newly completed promenade to the Harbour, or in the opposite direction for approximately 2kms. Further afield, there is a larger beach at Coral Bay (regular bus service).

A great base for wedding parties - 3 mins in the car to Alexander the Great Hotel on the beachfront.

The Paphos District

Iris Village is located in the Universal Area of Kato Paphos and is an ideal tourist destination or for those seeking a longer winter break. It has a very favourable climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year. English is widely spoken and driving is on the left hand side.

There are many areas of historical interest - Aphrodite Baths, Tomb of the Kings, the Fort at the harbour area and the World Heritage site which houses famous mosaics. Trodos Mountains offers opportunities for hill-walking and even ski-ing in the short winter season.

There are three golf courses within easy reach: Aphdorite Hills (PGA Standard); Secret Valley and Tsada. Watersports and fishing are available nearby and the indoor market at the old town is a very popular attraction.

Iris Village

There are 2 local kiosks (long opening hours) within 300 metres for essentials. Larger supermarkets can be found in both Kato Paphos and the old town. The area towards the harbour has many restaurants and bars of a high standard. The bars here are not too noisy, whilst the Bar Street area caters for those looking for a more lively nightlife. In addition, there are many shops.
