Our medieval house situated on the banks of the Orbieu river in beautiful Lagrasse provides not only an ideal base to explore this rich and historic region but also acts as a destination in itself.
The internal courtyard always stays cool and shady, even on the hottest summer days. Step out of the back and go for a paddle in the river or step out of the front door to find yourself in the heart of this special village. Parts of the house date back to medieval days. The cool colours of the ancient stone walls combine with the thoughtful renovation to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

There is ample free parking in the village car parks only a 2 minute walk away.
In the heart of Cathar country the area provides a huge choice of activities. From visits to historic sites such as Carcassone or Peyrepertruse to the beautifully clean mediterranean beaches to wine tasting and local "fetes". This region offers more sunshine than any other part of France. The Aude is perhaps the undiscovered Provence.
Lagrasse is famous for its abbey founded in 799 by Charlamagne. Local attractions are numerous and during the summer months the whole area is alive with fetes and other village events. Out of the summer season the village is a perfect place to spend time exploring the garrigue hills, sampling delicious local produce, cycling, canooing, horse riding or simply relaxing on the terrace overlooking the river.
