A lovely old character cottage in tiny village between Penzance and Lands end, 3 miles from Penzance, West Cornwall. 3 miles to the beaches at Penzance and 4 miles to the large sandy beaches and St Michael's Mount at Marazion. Mousehole fishing village (a favourite with authors) & Newlyn are a few miles and well known St Ives is 9 miles. Attractive rural walks and footpaths lead from the cottage.

A good size of single bedroom on the ground floor and have own bathroom shower and toilet facility but share the lounge and kitchen/diner and garden with other long term residences. Ideal for 1person but can have 2 single beds with less space in this case.

Plenty of parking space is free at car park opposite the cottage.

Linen and electric inclusive. Electric heating provided.

“Small but very affordable twin room.”

4 of 5 starsReviewed 1 week ago for a stay in May 2015

My husband and I are backpacking on a six week journey so we needed an affordable option and found a great one in this little place. The house is shared with two long term residents, who are both helpful and nice. You have a bathroom of your own with toilet, sink and electric shower. The kitchen is open for your use anytime of day, but you will need to have your own washing up liquid and drying towel, or you can use the whole kit offered by the owner, Li, at time of check in. It is an affordable £5 so if you are staying for a week or more it's worth it. There is a fridge but no freezer when we were there. She was even getting some extra cookers while we were there so in the future the kitchen will be even easier use. Once we were settled in, Li, the owner, left us alone but was always available if we had a question or anything. Two downsides are 1. This is not really suitable for people without a car, but we didn't mind walking. The let is in Drift, not St. Buryan. 2. The walls are quite thin so as not to disturb the other tenants, you will need to be very quiet after 9:30pm. We enjoyed our stay and plan to go back again. Recommended if you need to save some money and are just looking for a place to sleep. TVin the room with music and TV channels and a DVD player, but we didn't use that part. She also has a lovely back garden with seating in a glasses in sun porch and a washer available with an outside clothes dryer. Our clothes were dry by the end of the day!

“Good choice to visit Cornwall”

5 of 5 starsReviewed today for a stay in May 2015 NEW

The room is very nice and clean and the house is in a very good place if you want to go to Lands End, Sennen or Minack theatre. It is very close to Penzance, Newlin and you can visit St. Ives as well. The landlady is very nice and you have a living room and kitchen sharing only with a couple that lives upstairs. The garden is very beautiful, especially if it´s sunny :)
