About this location
The Hebrides region
Achnadrish House is located in Central north Mull, a rural retreat, yet 2 miles from the village of Dervaig and 5 miles from the colourful harbour town of Tobermory. A short drive from the white sandy beaches of North Mull, this area, like most of Mull, is a wildlife paradise, with frequent sightings of otter, golden and sea eagles, and red deer. Take a boat trip to visit the remote islands of the Hebrides, or go Whale watching and look out for dolphins too! Or you could visit Calgary Beach and stop in for a cuppa at the Tea house and Gallery there, or you could book a guided wildlife walk at Glengorm castle and admire the fantastic views.
The Isle of Mull, on Scotlands beautiful West Coast, is fast gaining an outstanding reputation as the place to go to see wildlife, having featured on TV on Spring watch, Ray Mears and a 3 part series on the Hebridess this year alone. The island is unspoilt raw wilderness, where you will see Eagles (Golden and Sea), Red Deer, Otters, a wide variety of bird species especially raptors and owls. Take a boat trip with one of our expert guides and you will discover the rich diversity of marine wildlife to be found here, Minke Whales, Harbour porpoises, Bottle-nose dolphins, Common dolphins, Grey and Common seals and Basking sharks are all frequently seen in the waters around Mull. There are mountains to climb, miles of tracks to cycle or walk, wonderful fresh sea food restaurants, beaches to comb and fabulous photographic opportunities around very corner.
